First, I feel bad for not writing a review sooner for this restaurant. I thought I had but after research I discovered I had not. Since moving to Vancouver in late September 2024, my wife and I have been to the restaurant a minimum of once per week. Most times with my mother-in-law who had brought us there the first time. Having lived and worked in mainland China for 3 years many years ago this restaurant brought me many great memories of the little out of the way places in China. Not the prettiest places but the food is absolutely amazing. The staff and service is excellent. Although, the restaurant is a worn and tired I still gave it a 5 star for atmosphere as it made me feel nostalgic. Beer boxes stacked up, tiny crowed hallway to the bathrooms etc. This adds to the great atmosphere for me, it is always busy, people of all walks of life enjoying their meal, laughing and talking. It makes you feel alive when you go inside. Everyone comes alive when they enter, it is great to see and absorb the positive atmosphere. .........The staff greet you with a huge smile, a warm cup of tea and complimentary small bowl of hot and sour soup during their lunchtime specials (delicious!!). How can you go wrong for $15.00 lunch specials. Even ordering off the menu is fairly priced. We love there homemade pork dumplings............and it is entertaining to see the chef make the homemade noodles. We had not been there for the last 2 weeks as we had a touch of the flu. My mother-in-law had been there for takeout and the staff were asking where we were as we had not been in. (we went yesterday and they were asking how we were) This is by far our favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. Cannot recommend it enough............if you have never been to China but want to experience a blue collar workers restaurant like there, this is it. It does not get any better, great staff & owner, excellent and tasty food with large servings and super atmosphere. Try it once and you...

Amazing!!! We had a couple of days in vancouver and found this little gem on Google, small place, little rough around the edges on the decor but that normally promises good things and this place does not disappoint, very friendly staff, brought water while we pondered over the menu, went with the schezuan beef noodles, pork steamed dumplings and chilli wontons, the beef noodles had so much flavour the beef was tender and the hand pulled noodles were the best ive ever had, the Pork dumplings were cooked perfectly had a little soup inside and tasted amazing but the star of the show were the chilli wontons, absolutely phenomenal, not too spicy great flavour cooked perfectly, the portions are large so go with an appetite,if I lived in the area this would be my go to place, the staff were friendly and polite and as we left there was a que forming out the door with hold testament to how well received this place is in the area, they do take out and had a constant stream of customers and delivery drivers picking up orders, 10/10 definitely pay this...

I do not recommend eating here, especially not inside the restaurant.

There were a lot of bugs and flies because they opened the door since they didn’t use AC.

The whole time I just hear the staff and kitchen yelling and arguing about orders which made it really annoying too.

The Lanzhou noodle I ordered and lamb skewers were not very good. The beef in the noodle was good but noodle itself was really hard to chew (maybe a bit undercooked & had no taste while soup and veggie was salty. Lamb skewers were not tender, hard to chew and had some fat bits that I didn’t like/couldn’t eat.

Maybe some of their other food is better but the experience was so bad that I don’t plan on coming back here.

Ironic this place is called happy noodles, I felt really unhappy after eating here.

Only good thing was food came fast, but it made me wonder if they just gave me someone else’s order because they were talking about people not picking up / canceling orders and giving it to other people that...

Unhappy noodle. Ordered the Lanzhou style beef noodle, lamb noddle with bread, and szechuan beef noodle. Unfortunately the Lanzhou beef noodle was completely flavorless, as in had less flavor than water that dumplings have been cooked in. When we asked about it, they added something to it and gave back the bowl, but it was still bad tasting. We have enjoyed lanzhou style noodles at many different locations and have never had such an awful bowl. I recommend Chopsticks and bowls around the corner or China Lan in the Kits area close to Balaclava street. My husband was so upset he lost his appetite. My son's lamb noodle tasted ok although I've had better elsewhere. The szechuan noodles I had were fine, broth tasted a bit like lanzhou noodle broth mixed with szechuan broth but not very beefy. The meat cubes were not cooked enough so the tendon were a bit tough and the meat was tough.

Folks, I don’t normally write google reviews. In fact, I had to figure out how to write one just for this review. My partner and I went here last night and got the chili sizzle (?) noodles and the Tan tan noodles. All we talked about for the entirety of the meal was how good the food was. Like, we didn’t speak on any other topic. I woke up this morning still thinking about these noodles. We popped around Vancouver this morning and had the intention of finding a new restaurant to try but we ended up here again for lunch. My boyfriend cried tears of joy. I said “this might be my favorite meal on planet earth” unprompted. We took leftover tan tan noodles over the US border and just ate them in the car, cold, and with our fingers. I’m not sure what they’re putting in the food here but it’s actually insane.
