Kimbap King — Restaurant in Vancouver

I used to like this place, especially their gimbap, which was always clean and tasty. But today’s experience was extremely disappointing.

My coworkers and I ordered tteokbokki for lunch, but what we received looked more like a soup than actual tteokbokki. It was just red broth with a few rice cakes floating around – definitely not what proper tteokbokki should be like. This wasn’t even our first order, so we know this isn’t the usual standard.

I called the restaurant, and after a bit of back-and-forth, they told me the head chef had recently changed, and that's why the food came out like this. But honestly, someone still packed it and sent it out knowing full well what it looked like. That’s unacceptable.

They also said that since we ordered through Uber Eats, they couldn’t refund us, and Uber Eats told us to talk to the restaurant. In the end, no one took responsibility.

I feel embarrassed thinking that people unfamiliar with Korean food might think this is what tteokbokki is supposed to taste like. If the kitchen has really changed hands, I won’t be ordering...

May 25/25 - I ordered the Pork Belly Bowl today off UberEats. I did not receive 1/3 of my order. It states the bowl comes with Pork Belly with caramelized soy, egg yolk, and seaweed salad. Instead I got pork Belly with caramelized soy Brussels sprouts on top of rice. It tasted good but missing 1/3 of my order.

11 months ago - This must be a newer establishment. If not, it's definitely underrated. I really liked the Bulgogi Kimbap, it was very tasty and well balanced with veggies/meat ratio. I also enjoyed the Spicy Chicken, more on the sweet side than spicy but that's more my preference with Korean fried chicken. It was perfect for my taste buds. This was a delivery on Ubereats. I dont quite understand the location of the restaurant, is it behind a sushi restaurant? What if I wanted to come and pick...

They have better Kimbab at Kim’s Mart than this place. For the price point you don’t even get the taste or even look of true Kimbab and this place. It’s unfortunate. My Kimbab was already falling apart when I took it out of the box that why you only see part of it in...
