Today I took my wife here for a Saturday brunch.
To keep things short, when we arrived, I guess the place is more of a serve yourself seating kind of gig as no servers came to welcome us so we grabbed our own seats. We actually stood by the door for a good minute to 2 or so and the place is not big - around 30 people capacity with 2 servers, 3 later on and nobody even bothered to make eye contact.
Upon grabbing one of the bar seats on our own, water came quite quickly which was a good thing at the very least.
However, around 5 minutes in one of the servers asked us if we could move to one of the back hallway seats as they had a party of 5 coming in. We obliged but the hallway was incredibly drafty and cold. I do not mind the cold but my wife and our food certainly did not. It also did not help being a cold and rainy day.
The next thing was the food temperature which is critical in our review. Our food arrived pretty much on the lukewarm cool side. Less than body temperature. Not hot at all. I imagined our food was sitting in the kitchen for quite a bit after it was finished?
The only thing hot was the coffee. Everything just went cold after 2 minutes of eating. Our server came and asked us how our food was after we were almost finished and I told her the food came out sort of on the cooler side, not hot. Nothing was done, just the usual "I see, sorry about that" superficial reply get along with your day sort of attitude.
The flavors were nothing special, forgettable.
The prices also do not reflect the value, no where near. $40 with tips for 2 brunch entrees, coffee and 1 bowl of soup and this was supposed to be considered one of the "Cheaper" eats of town in terms of your usual American staples and fares. The place is priced at least 25% over themselves when you factor in their size, location, quality and quantity of food.
There are cheaper and better options around and nearby so a warning to future foodies. This place may have been on TV, but it's also just that - quite pretentious in nature,...
Read moreGoogle doesn’t allow a rating lower than a star, but if it did, I would have given them half a star at best. I try to be as understanding and patient as I can at restaurants, because we all know it’s tough enough working in customer service, but this is by far the worst experience I’ve had.
A friend was craving milkshakes, and I had never been, so we decided to go. We arrived at around 11:30 pm on a Friday, and the place was packed. A booth frees up shortly after, so we head over to sit. We wait patiently for about 20 minutes before we were given glasses of water and are told they will be back to get our order. We figure it’s just extremely busy, so we try to extend our patience, but at this point it’s about 12:10. We’re getting impatient, so we’re trying to get our servers attention (I make eye contact and smile and my friend literally called out to our server saying excuse me but to no avail), but after some time, we can’t shake off the feeling that we’re deliberately being ignored. Also note that our server has walked past our table numerous times and did not acknowledge us since that time he gave us our water. My friend eventually catches his attention and asks if we can order. We order our shake, and after some time we get our shake.. in a to go cup (?!). By this time, it’s been about an hr, I’m just extremely annoyed with this whole experience, and I was just over this diner. I go up to the cashier and ask if I can pay. I’m told “not now” (once again, ?!). I’m quite confident I want to leave just as much as you want us to. JUST LET ME PAY AND LET US LEAVE. I asked our server and I paid. My friend and I left, absolutely confused and speechless. Neither of us had no idea what just went on, but I am definitely never going back. Needless to say, I do...
Read moreLucy’s Eastside Diner on Main Street is an absolute gem where every visit feels like it was meant to be. I’ve had several incredible experiences here with friends, and each one has been as memorable as the last.
The owner is a wonderfully kind and sincere lady who pours her heart into making Lucy’s a welcoming space. Along with the talented chef and amazing staff, they create an atmosphere that feels more like visiting family than dining out. Whether it’s the server, the chef, or the owner herself, their advice and hospitality are as warm and genuine as the food they serve.
One of the biggest bonuses about Lucy’s is that they’re open very late. On nights when it felt impossible to find anywhere open, Lucy’s was always there, saving the day (or night). It’s hands-down the best spot for late-night dining, offering incredible food and a cozy ambiance that’s hard to beat.
The retro 1950s-inspired decor adds charm to every visit, whether you’re there during the day or late at night. The menu is packed with comfort food classics like fluffy pancakes, juicy burgers, and rich milkshakes, all crafted with care and attention to detail.
Every time I’ve been here, the experience has left me feeling connected, uplifted, and genuinely cared for. Lucy’s is more than just a diner—it’s a space to gather, share stories, and create memories.
For anyone seeking great food, heartfelt service, and the best late-night dining on Main Street, Lucy’s Eastside Diner is the place to be.
