I visited today and the barista was exceptional. Not only did she make a perfect Chai Latte but she offered to make it again If I didnât like it.
Her ability to connect to every single client while creating beautiful coffee art was seamless, open, genuine and just well, nice.
She made my morning and if every customer service experience was like that, life would be a joy.
So many times we experience uninspired, disconnected people across service counters who seem miserable.
What are these companies doing wrong? Whatâs making these people lose their human touch, their inspiration?
I have pondered this for years and having employed many people myself, I think itâs a blend of two things.
Firstly, people need to feel empowered and a sense of pride and ownership in the product or service. This must be truthful.
Secondly, we are human and we get wrapped up in our own little problems, from a sore back to a nightmare room mate to simply not having a good night sleep the night before.
We often forget that the human in front of us probably has the same or similar issues. Lauren doesnât forget and I wasnât the only client who noticed. The other staff were lovely too btw:)
We could all learn from this wonder barista, correction, wonder-human.
Letâs hope Lauren stays that way forever and to the owners of Milano Espresso bars, hats off to you. You should be very proud of what...
Read moreI've been going to Milano for years and I've been really disappointed with the customer service lately. I work in customer service myself, so I know it can be challenging sometimes and people have off days. But every time I've come in lately, I feel like the staff there can't be bothered serving me and my patronage is a nuisance.
Went in there today and wasn't greeted at all by the two staff members standing at the counter. They continued to talk to each other while ignoring me for about two minutes, before one finally turned to me and said "what can I get for you?" No hello, no nothing. The other staff member just stared at me. It was so awkward!
No one rang my order up, and the staff member actually started to serve the person behind me before remembering I was there first and completing my order.
The coffee here is excellent and the staff used to be really nice, polite and friendly. I'm not sure what happened, but my recent experiences made me feel like I'm not welcome as a customer and I won't be coming again. Plenty of equally good places in the West...
Read moreI used to go quite frequently because I really like the squares and the coffee is good. When I went in today, I was mistakenly given the wrong coffee. I had already added cream and taken a sip when they noticed their mistake. They gave me my coffee. My co-worker walked in and I offered him the mistake coffee. The server said, "You get 2 coffees you pay for 2 coffees." I said, "You could throw this one out, or let me give it to my co-worker." The server just glared at me, at which time I gave him the coffee back. Then I had to ask for the square that I had paid for and tipped on. He had left it sitting by the cash register and I guess he wasn't going to give it to me? I haven't been treated so rudely by someone in customer service for many years and I will never go back. Too bad, the coffee and...
