Falafel plate was pretty good. Notable that they fry the falafels right when you order. They do come out a little greasy, but in the context of the whole dish, when mixed with rice and sauce, I didn’t really notice. The plate comes with your choice of salad: shirazi, tabbouleh, Greek, or pasta. I went with tabbouleh. Not bad, but it tasted like it had been marinating a bit too long and the parsley had lost some of its crispness. Other than that I have no complaints about the food. I especially liked the herby green yogurt sauce. $15 is a very fair price, it's a very filling portion and I had a little bit of hummus and rice leftover which is rare for me. The people were very nice, but my lone non-food-related complaint is the thing that's always my pet peeve: they have actual plates, but refuse to use them, instead using plastic takeaway containers. They asked if I was eating for here and I said yes, but then took out a plastic takeaway container for my food anyway, and looked completely baffled when I asked about the plates. I saw them using plates when people ordered wraps for dine-in, so I would assume/hope they have the means to wash them, so why not use them for dine-in plates? Just seems very wasteful for no reason. I realize most of their customer base probably does not care but someone has to. With that aside, overall I was happy with the experience here. Would for sure give 3.5 if half stars were a thing. I'd definitely recommend them for falafel...
Read moreI have to say that the staff are friendly and welcoming.
I guess if you would like to have a vegetarian option, a falafel platter with rice and salad would be your perfect choice. It would come with pita bread and different options of sources such as garlic sauce, ketchup, chili sauce and mayo.
I would not recommend the chicken, beef nor lamb Sharma as I feel that the quality of the meat is not premium. And to be honest the quantity of the meat option is very minimal.
I was also surprised that the place does not have a Greek identity as they serve Lebanese ,Syrian, Iranians and Turkish types of salads and appetizers.
The fries! I really like them!
But if I go there again I will definitely not have donair shawarma, I would only go for falafel, fries and Shiraz salad with pitta bread and different...
Read moreFood poisoning. I bought a spinach pie (which the serving lady heated for me in a paper bag) and a salad from the salad bar display. About two hours later I had a burning feeling in my stomach and then the yuckiest nausea I’ve ever felt. I began vomiting a whole later and this went on throughout the evening. All I wanted to do was sleep and recover but all I could do was lay on the bathroom floor retching up till my throat and stomach were raw. My husband called the next day to advise them that I had become ill after eating from there, the man on the phone said ‘No, not our food’ and hung up. I cringe now at the thought of the food from this store sadly. Something is not right and the hand cleaning of staff , food storage or food preparation needs to be addressed to prevent more customers...
