This review is based on service and policy of the restaurant. At the time of online booking, it says we will have two hours for our table. But when we arrived, the hostess said we only have 1 hour and 30 mins for our table, because they already have another reservation for our table for the next party. It took us off guard but we took the chance. After about 50 minutes into our dinner, a waitress came by and ask if she can take away a plate that still has 2 pizza slices on it, then we looked at her in obvious shock and told her we are still working on it. Then, about another 15-20 mins another waitress came by and simply took away a plate that still has some food on it. Normally at restaurants of similar scale, the server would have asked if we were finish before taking the plate away. We felt pressured and not happy with the way we were rushed into finishing everything. Then 20 mins left into our restricted 1 and a half hour dinner time, the waitress left us with the dessert menu to look at. Honestly we really wanted to try a couple of their desserts and to finish our meal with a nice cappuccino, but how can you expect your customers to be able to have the full 3 courses meal all within the 1 and a half hour time? Our experience didn’t feel like a good Italian restaurant dining or similar style of experience at all. Considering we ordered wine and appetizer and mains. We felt the time pressure and the rushed service gave us more stress to finish our meal on time were not pleasant at all. We had to keep checking our watch for the time remaining, every time a waitress comes to check our table. So 10 mins before our time is up for the table, the waitress already gave us the bill before we ask. As you can imagine, we still have food in our mouth and we had to rush to get our wallet while still chewing. We really didn’t feel like we enjoyed a supposedly relaxing dinner. You are...
Read moreIt was my first time dining in here and I had high hopes from all the reviews but I left feeling underwhelmed. We ordered the beef carpaccio, lamb skewers and octopus to start. I didn’t taste any truffle oil at all for the beef carpaccio and the truffles pieces were such tiny pieces. The lamb skewers were probably my fav, it wasn’t gamey but some skewers were under seasoned. The octopus was too soft, even though I know the description is suppose to be tender, but it felt way too overcooked. Octopus should still have a nice fresh bounce to it imo. Then came the entrees, the blue mar spaghetti was my favourite, the bolognese rigatoni and carbonara was eh. The pan seared rainbow trout was definitely not fresh and probably just frozen and reheated because this is not the texture of a freshly pan seared fish, it was so soft and mushy along with the broccoli. Again, no truffle taste at all. I actually enjoyed the PIZZA TRASIMENO, only dish where I tasted the truffle but the pizza was just so soggy. It didn’t taste like it was fresh out of the oven at all. I don’t have a problem with paying fine dining prices but I feel like if you’re going to charge premium prices, your dishes and quality must reflect that. Service was okay, the server did check in throughout the meal but when we needed something he was no where to be seen half the time. The coffee was really good though. I got an additional takeout order of the blue mar spaghetti because of how much I liked it, but when I got home, the portion was so much smaller then the portion at the restaurant. In total we spent $500+ for a group of 5 adults and 2 kids under 5, I wish we went somewhere else in...
Read moreBooked a reservation here for my husbands 30th birthday and I am so disappointed! To start, the food was really good but none of that matters if the service sucks. The waiter was very nice at first but seemed to get annoyed that we weren't getting a ton of food and spending a lot of money which is confusing because I ordered an 18 dollar drink and my husband also got a drink. Me and my husband always split food and rarely get two mains and an appetizer because it's just a lot especially if we want desert. This seemed to annoy the waiter and he barely checked in with us after that! All of this was annoying but honestly wasn't the biggest deal until it got worse at dessert! When I called and told them it was my husbands 30th and asked if they did anything, they said they brought something out with a candle. I wasn't sure if we had to order something or if they brought something small out but regardless were way too full and didn't want dessert so we just ordered two coffees. This is where it gets good (see attached photo). Another waitress brings two coffees out with a shot glass FILLED WITH SALT with a sparkler in it and says "you didn't get dessert". I still can't believe this happened and at that point, just don't bring anything out!! Also, are you hurting that bad for money you can't make a tray of something cheap to give out for birthdays? Even if not, fill it with whip cream but SALT? Just absolutely insane and I still can't believe this happened still. This was very upsetting for a milestone birthday especially since we drove 40 minutes to come based on recommendations. Overall food was good but the atmosphere and service gave off a...
