Kelseys Original Roadhouse — Restaurant in Vaughan

Just had a dinner at this Kelsey’s location and we didnt have a great time. Our food order were taken at 8:00pm . And we asked if it’s already happy hour and the server Michael said yes. I was so happy . Drinks are $5 and appetizers are $10 except for the 3 appetizers with pictures on the Menu according to Michael. So we ordered the ones that he said are $10. The drinks and food came so late. We’ve been sitting for a long time before the drinks and food were served. The chicken wings are very dry and hard to chew. The rest of our orders were just ok. When it’s time to pay I noticed that our appetizers were charged $12 and 15.99 and not as advertised which is $10. I asked why they are charging more , when the server Michael said all appetizers are $10 except for the ones with pictures in the menu. The other server who gave us the bill admitted there was a miscommunication but insisted on charging us the whatever they put on the bill. This is clearly false advertisement . The server should be knowledgeable about their menu and if they made a mistake with their recommendations they should go back and ask if we still want to order even if the price is different. I was so upset. It’s not about the few dollars that I paid but Kelsey’s staff not honouring what they said. I will never go back to Kelsey’s again. Instead of going home happy. We went as a group of two on a Friday night. The restaurant was maybe 20% full. When we arrived, there was no hostess around so we stood around awkwardly for a minute until someone showed up to seat us. We ordered the half size nachos with chili and guacamole as well as our own entrees. The full sized nachos said "feeds 6", so we figured the half size would leave us fairly content as we were looking to eat a lot. However, the portions were abysmal and hardly enough for a single person. The quality of the dish was fairly low as well, and they charged us for the chili even though they forgot it on the nachos. When we complained about the nachos, they were taken away from us and we thought they would just toss some chili on top. In the end, they brought our leftover and now cold nachos out later, without chili, and said they'd just remove the chili from the bill... The entrees were decent, but a bit overpriced for relatively basic dishes. Our waitress was nice when she was around, but it was very hard to get ahold of her after placing out order and she never came around to check if we were content until after we had raised complaints about the chili. Overall, it was a pretty poor experience. The decor and seating was nice, but for how empty the restaurant was the service definitely should have been better. I would likely not...

Waited about 25 minutes for our medium/medium rare steak to come out to find out it's well done. Approach the server about the issue and he's more than accommodating making sure we get a replacement meal as soon as he could (shout out to the bartender Michael, you were awesome) The problem was the manager. 2 minutes later he comes out to say "im not trying to be mean, but it probably is the lighting in the restaurant that makes you think that, so would you like your steak rare?? (To whom ordered med rare) and would you like med rare?? (To whom ordered medium) as if we didn't know how to order our own steak? We ate it and it tasted burnt and very overcooked. He tried to make us feel stupid? Very odd comment from a manager"

New steaks come out, much better and we're satisfied finally after ordering almost an hour ago. Manager comes out to ask how things were, we tell him everything is much better and then he tells us "your beer is on the house".
