The sandwiches were great! Love Vietnamese banh mi.
We took some shredded porks, an assorted cut and other with sausages.
The person that served us was extremely rude and condescending.
It was our first time there and obviously when we were reading the signs with the different type of sandwich we would give the name of the sandwich we want. That lady was so mad and screamed 'what number' 'what number?!' 'that is number 2!'
it's like going to a Mcdonald asking for a BigMac and they would yell at you asking for the sandwich code! It was absolutely not obvious for us and as a customer the employee should have explain to tell her directly what number for making her life easier to prepare whatever sandwiches. So unfriendly.
I am so disappointed because the sandwiches are excellent and very cheap. The employee clearly has zero patience and won't treat you well at all unless you are (potentially) a vietnamese speaker.
Be aware of giving her the number associated with the sandwich sign that you want so it would avoid you being treated like a dog.
Also the place looks old, not modern. Not sure about the hygiene. Could be simply because of the building being old and not necessary related to the cleaniless of the place.
We got lucky, we haven’t been sick (yet).
No tables or seats. This is a take...
Read moreWe like to visit a lot of places in the GTA that serve Banh Mi. This is one of my favourites! They also have a location downtown that my family likes, but it’s a further drive for us. The sandwiches are really good and ingredients are always fresh when we’re there.
This place has quick service and a lot of selection. Not sure why people experience rudeness because when I go there the ladies are all friendly saying good morning or hello! They have a lot of Vietnamese ready made food options that I don’t know the names of, but the ladies there explain what they are when I ask. We like the pork rolls in wrapped in leaves that are usually by the register. The large sesame balls are also really good too. I usually go in the late morning or early afternoon and the food is fresh! If you go too early not all the prepared foods are ready yet so the refrigerator display are sometimes a bit empty. I would say to aim to go there around noon or later to see the full selection of food options.
In summary, I...
Read moreA+! The first bite of the assorted (and spicy) banh mi sent me back to my youth as I chewed on the soft and crispy Vietnamese baguette, fresh veggies, and savoury meat & pate. So so good! The eating experience, paired with an iced coffee, was excellent. I wanted to eat everything there, the packaged snacks on the counter, the deli meats in the fridge, the bun baos, etc. The prices are amazing if you consider how much it costs to buy a western style sandwich that won’t compare to a Viet sub in taste and satisfaction. The workers are kind, you just have to be kind back. Vietnamese culture is like that, they are mirrors and reflect your mood and demeanour, show respect and get respect back, you know? The place isn’t fancy but for these types of shops this is quite good, if you know you know. I wished I passed by here more often. Thanks for the...
