I was excited to check out this 2% Jazz and i left very disappointed. I had an hour to kill while waiting for my car to be serviced. I only lasted 15 minutes here and before i left to go waiting in the car dealer service reception area. It was more comfortable than this 2% Jazz. First, yes, the coffee was good. Quite good. Had a large americano. Also ordered a coffee cake slice which I haven't taken a bite of yet. And the gals making my coffee were friendly. Ok so here's the problem - if you want a comfortable place to work or write or visit or whatever, this is not the place. I wish I'd gone across the road to Tim Hortons. There is very little seating and the seating that is there is terrible. Skinny shaky seats with about 6inches of counter space. It was tough having space to write nevermind if you had a laptop and were hoping to work - forget about it! Second - the bathroom was out of order. C'mon. It's 9 in the morning, I'm having a large coffee. No bathroom is quite an inconvenience. My mood was soured quite quickly here. And so i left and am sitting in a comfy car at the car dealership. To end this, if you want good coffee to go, it's worth the stop. If you want an experience and to chill while enjoying a hot beverage, not the...
Read moreMy first visit. This shop has been in this location for a number of years. It's a bit off the beaten track but it's part of a fairly large office building. There is short term parking. I was a bit surprised at the amount of traffic coming through. Pretty steady lineup. It has the usual refrigerated cabinet display you normally see in a coffee shop. Their focus is on breakfast but I came in at lunch time. I decided on the Veggie Breakfast Burrito which they warmed in a Starbucks style convection oven. It was fresh and surprisingly good. Scrambled egg and tomato in a WW tortilla. They have a couple of other veggie options as well as the usual meat centred breaky sandwiches. What surprised me was that, at the cash, they had a display of breakfast menu items apparently available to order. They even had Shakshuka which is an upscale item. I didn't ask about it but it appears they have a kitchen in the back. I will come back and check it out. The interior is on the larger size for a coffee joint. It's high ceilinged and cavernous with lots of echo. The service was prompt and friendly. All in all,...
Read more2% Jazz Coffee is my favourite coffee establishment in Victoria. Yes, they serve excellent espresso drinks, but the service is very authentic and friendly. Truly a rare combination.
I buy my espresso beans there. It's a medium-roasted style that brings out the sweetness of the coffee. The best in town, if that's the style of roast you are looking for!
I usually go to the Hillside Road location and I am always greeted by friendly staff. The breakfast sandwiches, scones, etc. are very delicious and fresh.
I've been to the Hudson Market location a handful of times (only because parking is more difficult there), but the service there was fantastic as well.
Victoria has many great coffee establishments and roasteries. but 2% is the only one that consistently makes...
