I had one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had today, and I love Bubby's and have been going for years!

After waiting in line for a long time, I got to the till and an older gentleman walked up to the till and took my order. He misheard me multiple times, and corrected me on the names of the items I was asking for, which after waiting for like 20 minutes in line while watching him sit out front talking to his friend was kind of irritating. I paid for my order, tipped 20%, and I put my card back in my wallet. Somehow he or his younger coworker made a mistake and told me I hadn't paid yet, I said I had (which I had), then the older man proceeded to get upset at me. He took the food away from me which was really intense, and embarrassed me in front of everyone in line and told me to leave. I went and checked my online banking, saw I was charged, and went back in to show my statement to his younger coworker and ask for an apology and get either my food or my money back. I saw this older guy yelling at all the staff in the back, and when he came back out front he proceeded to say I was wrong and that I had "paid for someone else's order" which somehow was my fault. I just wanted either my food or my money back, and some other staff member had to come out and calm the older guy down. He gave me what I had paid for, said "hey give him a break he's old", and when I got home later, I saw they'd given me the wrong food. Am I nuts for thinking this was a bizarre experience?

And the worst part? This older man had a super cool vest on that I wanted to...

I visited your restaurant today at lunch time and cannot believe the way you treat your customers. I had driven down from Duncan to attend a dog obedience session in a park where there was no washroom. Although we were up at MacKenzie we decided to drive to your restaurant for lunch as we have always liked it. I was desperate to use a washroom when I got there. I saw that the washroom was closed and when I asked they said it was not for customers. I was really desperate and they told me there was no washroom nearby. I got a couple of take out items and waited outside for them to heat a quiche. That took a long time so I went back in and said I could not wait any longer as I was so desperate to use a washroom and why would they not let me use theirs. They said they were having trouble with people smoking up in there. I am 75 years old and not likely to be doing that. I think it is against the law for a restaurant not to have a washroom and I am going to check on that. I am disgusted that your staff is so inhumane as to not let someone (a senior at that) use the washroom when they are just desperate. We had rush to the car and drive to Lifestyles where I knew there was a washroom I could use. I will never come to your restaurant again or buy any Bubby Rose products. You should realize that sometimes using a washroom is critical and have...

Bubby Rose's Bakery & Cafe on Cook Street is a delightful gem for anyone seeking house-baked sweet and savoury treats. This cozy bakery has a warm, welcoming vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. The display case is always filled with a delicious variety of baked goods, including plenty of gluten-free options, which is a big plus for those with dietary restrictions. Their flaky pastries, decadent cakes, and hearty sandwiches are a must-try; everything is crafted with care and quality ingredients.

Located at 1022 Cook St, Bubby Rose’s can get quite busy, especially during peak hours, but the friendly staff always handle the rush with a smile. Inside, there's a relaxed charm, with seating both indoors and outdoors—perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee alongside a freshly baked treat.

As for parking, you’ll find street parking nearby, but it can be limited, especially during busy times, so be prepared to walk a short distance if needed. The cafe’s hours of operation are from 7 AM to 6 PM daily, making it a perfect spot for breakfast, lunch, or a mid-afternoon snack. If you're in the Cook Street Village area, Bubby Rose’s Bakery & Cafe is a must-visit for its homey atmosphere, exceptional baked goods, and...

Had a great latte and Salmon Breakfast Sandwich here (the sandwiches are pre-made, but they heated it up for me). The breakfast sandwich is made of buttery, savoury biscuits which are delicious. Took some cinnamon buns to-go: very tasty (almost as good as my mom's... but that's a high bar). Reasonable prices. Solid place - check it out if you're in the area. *Note: Bubby's bun is the left one in the pic; I did a "cinnabun-off" against the Sally Bun, and I have a slight preference for Bubby's (although both were good).

Do not think about it. So far best desserts I've tried in so long! So I've always like dessert but must of the times in happy with them but there's is something missing. I've ordered new York cheesecake, flourless chocolate tart and apple caramel apple crumble, and let me tell you they were amazingly delicious! My favorite would be the cheesecake. I was looking for the perfect cheesecake in BC and found it here. Totally my favorite place for sure

Had lunch at Bubby Rose on Cook Street with homemade sandwiches with vegetable soup special. Also one London Fog. Service was friendly and fast and food was fresh and tasty. Reasonable price of $11 per person plus the tea. Steady stream of customers about half to stay and half getting baking to go; a section for day old and two day old bread. Also outdoor seating available and a small bathroom inside.
