If you're looking for a quick tasty lunch, this it the spot! Their delicious lunch special always fills me up and keeps me coming back.!
Their lunch special includes crispy fries, flavourful chicken, and a can of soda. The atmosphere is cozy and always a great place to eat or even a casual catch-up with friends.
I love that the fried chicken here is very easy to eat because most of the time they are boneless and juicy, and utensils are provided.
I had the soy garlic chicken and it tasted a mix of sweet and salty. The garlic was a nice touch of flavour. Absolutely no complains and only praise.
I also had the tasty spicy chicken... and let me tell you it is literally spicy. The flavour of the spicy chicken was amazing, but the spiciness definitely took over! If you think that Junior Chickens from McDonald is spicy, you will not make it through this spicy chicken.
You can also ask to have the flavouring or sauce on the side in a small cup just in case you want to dip your chicken in the sauce yourself.
The staff here are extremely friendly and genuinely seem to enjoy their work, which makes for a welcoming environment.
Compared to other Korean Fried Chicken places in Victoria, Smile Chicken stands out. Located in Downtown, it’s an ideal spot for a quick trip for a bite. Plus, I love supporting local businesses, and this one really delivers. Overall, I highly recommend Smile Chicken to anyone in the area looking for mouthwatering Korean...
Read moreWe rarely go to downtown anymore but we went to the library one day and saw the big corn dog picture on the window. My daughter was like.."isn't that the corn dog that I saw on YouTube? Popular Korean Street Food?" We went home and Googled the menu so we decided to give it a try the next day.
We visited the place last night. We ordered one of each corn dog and half and half fried chicken (honey mustard and soy garlic).
The corn dogs were good. My kids really enjoyed it. The batter isn't your typical cornmeal batter. It tastes more like bread. Because it has sugar coated, ketchup and mustard drizzled on the outside so it tastes sweet and savory. It was quite filling for the kids. One stick was enough for each of them. I asked my daughter if they tasted like what she had imagined, she said "Absolutely Yes!" The only thing she commented was...The mozzarella was too heavy so it kept on falling off to one side.
My husband ordered the fried chicken. (Half honey mustard and half soy garlic). It was decent amount for its price. A couple drumsticks and thighs. They were crispy and yummy, however the chicken was a bit too salty for our taste. The meat were sautéed so they were already quite flavourful without the sauce. They would go well and beers on the weekend though.
Overall, we will definitely go back for more...
Read moreIf you’re craving some mouthwatering Korean goodness, head over to Smile Chicken! 🍗🤤My family and I recently had the pleasure of dining at Smile Chicken, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed by Melvin, who greeted us by our home language. You can easily feel how genuinely he cares about his customers. He goes the extra mile to ensure you have a memorable dining experience, which we did. We ordered the half-and-half and this is the only Korean fried chicken place I've tried in Victoria that is flexible to give you the sauce on the side, if you wish. This allowed the whole family to enjoy including the little ones. The owner is also very generous, when he saw we were a family, he sent us some free items, which we enjoyed trying something new. Their location is also very convenient, and they offer an unbeatable lunch special: 3 chicken pieces, fries and a pop for $13. For a great price, you get a satisfying meal that leaves you smiling (pun intended). In summary, whether you’re a fried chicken enthusiast or simply looking for a delightful meal, this place won’t disappoint. My family and I will be...
