I was in this afternoon. It was busy-ish but I acceded to my daughter’s request to get a lemonade. They were pretty slow and it took about 15 minutes to get that simple drink - at first waiting in line and then giving up and using the app to order because it was taking so long. I’m willing to accept though that people may be training so that is not the basis for my negative review. My low rating is due to the fact that while waiting for the lemonade for my daughter my son told me that he had a headache and wanted some water. No problem I thought I would just ask for a glass of water when the lemonade was eventually served. I made the simple request, but the somewhat callous reply was something to the effect of “ok, but we’re busy so you’re gonna have to wait your turn again”. I soon realized to my astonishment that instead of simply filling a cup that was right in front of me when I asked, with water from the water tap that was also right in front of me, they were making me wait until all the other drink orders that have been made while I was waiting for my lemonade were fulfilled and then they would get me a glass of water. After waiting about five more minutes I asked one of the other staff if I could just get a cup of water. She also made me wait while she did a few more more complicated drinks and then let me have it. They were clearly miffed that I was giving them the message in my expression and tone that it did not seem reasonable to have to wait so long for a glass of water when I had already purchased something. And then as I walked away I could hear a semi-mocking “ Have a nice day” coming from the Starbucks staff behind me. Thanks guys, you all have bright futures in customer service. On a more positive note, it helped me reinforce a lesson to my daughter as to why I don’t like Starbucks in the...
Read moreI was subjected to harsh, insensitive and cruel treatment by a staff-person at the Starbucks at Hillside Mall in Victoria, BC. I will never ever buy anything at Starbucks for the rest of my life! The specific incident happened at about 6:30 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2020, where I was badly mistreated by a supervisor called 'Brian.' I am a senior woman and I urgently needed to use the bathroom, due to a medical condition. I am otherwise healthy, do not have COVID-19 or any other infection, so I posed NO safety risk to Starbucks whatsoever. But the fact that I was in great distress and in a lot of pain garnered no sympathy from the cold, hard-hearted young supervisor! Brian could not have cared less. When I requested to use the washroom because it was an emergency situation and I was clearly upset and in physical distress, Brian flatly refused to let me use the facilities! I understand and respect the need for these kinds of safety precautions during this pandemic. But when a customer is in physical distress, that kind of emergency trumps any COVID restrictions. But Brian was oblivious to my distress and treated me with cruel and callous indifference! I am outraged at being subjected to such demeaning and undignified treatment by Starbucks and I want NOTHING to do with your company and will stay as far away from your business as possible!! ---- Doreen Marion Gee,...
Read moreA good place to walk in and have a coffee on the fly whether it's a Trente specialty cold drink in a summer heat wave or a Venti triple shot cafe mocha to quell a bad headache or migraine in a rainy weather. One of the busiest Starbucks locations in the city but also one of faster ones too.
Added updated holiday photos with this updated review, enjoy! 😄 Served by Connor this time around but drank my cold brew and forgot to take a photo until realizing it's empty 😳
(For those who walk-in & leaving the worst complaints about the long waits at this location on Google Maps, please grow a pair & stop being incel clients as folks like you ruin the overall mood of baristas & clients all over this city; not just this location, but all coffee cafes regardless of brand, local versus corporate chains. Order via the app & wait patiently like everyone else during the pandemic including my daughters & me. What do you expect during the Great Resignation with work shortages everywhere? Be glad they're still being polite to you over your trivial issues; as if you'd be any better behind the counter?...
