New Years Resolution
Covid has been tough on some of us, really tough. Once a gym regular, 2 years of living like a human hamster has broken all routines. This year I planned for change...
As I drove to the gym I saw an alert, an alert that Primetime donair has just opened in West Edmonton Mall! Knowing that I had ambitious plans for the new year I knew this was something I would not partake in until cheat day...
I awoke from a glutinous slumber, with sweet sauce dripping down my beard, as I looked around the semi recognizable mall, I knew something bad had happened. Just like how sweet and spicy, with spicy fire number 4 hits all the different tastebuds, shame of cheating on my diet yet satisfaction of treating myself hit me all at once. As the feelings of self control got washed away with chunks of perfectly seasoned donair meat, I knew that this years resolution would have to be amended.
It's not cheating anymore knowing that primetime donair at west edmonton mall and I are now in a committed...
Read moreOrdered a BBQ chicken donair wrap. Standard size. Very small wrap for an almost $15 piece. Quite expensive I find.
To my surprise when I open the foil that was used to wrap the wrap, both ends were spilt with sauce. The wrap was hard to remove. There was no way for me to be able to eat it by hand.
You are supposed to be able to eat a wrap holding it with your hands, right? No, with this one you cant. So I had to go to them and ask the guy for utensils. I told the guy that his wrap he made is a total mess and I cant eat it right out.
Instead of showing a little compassion and care, he gave me a long stare, then switch to a discussing look which I don’t even know why.
Anyways, despite the bad experience with the wrap being handled, it tasted decent. It took me longer than expected to finish it as I had to use fork and knife to eat it as of it was a dish on plate.
So only 3 stars because of the handling of the food...

Being the only customer at the time, they seemed to be preoccupied with a silly game of "who can shuffle around the slowest" It took them just about 10 minutes to look around for a clean pan, then look for the donair meat which is stored in a warming tin, then oil, then leaving my donair meat to fry for an eternity while they rinse another pan off for another customer's order.
Finally I received my miniscule donair and to my surprise, the small amount of meat that was inside wasn't even hot. After an eternity of waiting , my donair was stone cold and tasted like a cold cut combo from subway. To top it off, this tiny donair, fries and a drink cost me just shy of $18. Not worth the hassle. Do not spend your hard...
