Went Tuesday for the Triple Threat amateur night. The show was good, for the most part, with some vets trying some new jokes, and some amateurs, well, just trying. The show was fun and the prices for Tuesdays... admission, food and drinks... are really good. The problem I had was the waitress padded our tab with doubles we didn't ask for. She gave us our tab before the show was even over, in the still dark room... and brought the debit machine... so I couldn't even see what I was paying for, even though the total seemed high for those prices. When the lights came up, I looked more closely and saw that my wife's drinks were doubles (and also coincidently that she was the only one drinking premium). My wife never, ever drinks doubles. We asked to see the waitress, as she had disappeared to the back. When we asked her about the bill, she said she had asked my wife if she wanted doubles, and that my wife had said yes. This conversation had not happened. Either the waitress had confused our table with another, or she padded the tab with premium doubles. Anyway, we left what was a fun night with a really sour taste, and we doubt we will ever go back.

So I brought 5 of my friends along with me to the comedy show last weekend featuring Donnell Rawlings. This was our first experience watching live standup and my goodness... It was the greatest experience ever! The opening acts were pretty good as well as the MC. I really like how their material gave an interesting perspective on what’s going within the city and just current events in general. Donnell was amazing and absolutely killed it on stage! I’ve always enjoyed The Dave Chappelle show and seeing Donnell perform live was very starstrucking! Overall the venue is really nice and cozy. I’m definitely looking forward to attending more shows in the future and bringing more of my friends along with me!

Edmonton doesn’t have many comedy club. Is this one amazing, nah. But its probably the best you will find here in Edmonton , Alberta. They get great headliners, try to make any issues right & there are really no bad seats in here. We had a drunk heckler that ended up getting kicked out right next to us, during the show. The servers brought us two complimentary tickets to another show, before we left (also without mentioning anything). Drinks are delicious. Food is fairly decent, not a lot of options which is usual for us non-meat eaters, but my bowl of fries were hot & well seasoned. Would I go again? Absolutely. So should you. But its def not the ritz.

We planned a night out with friends. We made a whole evening of it dinner/drinks and then comedy club. We were seated right up front, at no time were we told there would be a 20% gratuity added to our bills because we were a larger group. I get that might be the norm, in some places but 20% for drink service (no food) is ridiculous in my opinion and for that much I would expect exceptional service which was not the case. Apparently on the screen before the show starts it indicates that you should not be on your phones during the show, I did not see this and at no time was it announced verbally. Now anytime I have ever been to see a comedian the whole point is for the crowd to interact with the comedian. At one point during the show the comedian made a comment our table responded with laughter and alternate suggestions the comedian interacted with us and moved on we kept laughing. Out of nowhere though “the security” comes up to our table and says “there is to be absolutely no yelling at the comedians.” When we asked what he was referring too or who specifically had yelled he didn’t respond and walked away. Then a couple of people at our table were checking their phones, the comedian called them out they joked back and forth and again he moved on. Next thing we know security is back at our table telling us “to stop yelling at the comedian, or we would be removed.” Again we asked who was yelling he said nothing and walked away. At the end of the show we asked to see the manager. He was rude and had absolutely no customer service skills. When asked what it was that we had done he told us we were on our cell phones. When we asked why didn’t they just say that, he said they did we said no and he called us liars. I was absolutely shocked, I understand standing up for your staff but this was one of the worst experiences I have ever had as a customer. All we were looking for was an explanation of why and he nor any of his staff could tell us or provide an example of what was said. The comedians were adequate but the overall customer experience was beyond poor....

The customer experience at the comic strip is severely lacking. We booked tickets as a group but we were paying separate bills - so a group of two here a group of one there etc but all at one table. They sat us front stage. It’s a comedy club we’ve all been to them so we get that there will be back and forth with the comics - that’s fun - it’s part of why you go to a comedy club Well back and forth banter that was fun was perceived by one of the ushers as us yelling at the comic , so he came over to “warn us” we had no idea what he was talking about comic change and the next comic comes up and again bow tie boy comes over and wants us again to stop yelling at the comic. There are multiple tables interacting with the comics and they keep coming to ours ! The first two comics were mediocre at best - I could have easily walked out - headliner was ok but not hilarious. We enjoyed a couple drinks, the wait staff was slow and on autopilot so when I switched my drink she brought me out the wrong one at first - whatever - until they bring a bill charging me an automatic 20% gratuity - which is absolutely ridiculous - gratuity is my choice to pay if the experience is worth it - she was by no means worth 20% We asked for a manager some slob comes out and doesn’t even listen to what happened he won’t soesk to any of the women ( of 11 only three were men) and he continues to call us liars and tell us that we were doing things we did not do. They gave us a generic email to send a messsge to but as a previous patron said they just don’t answer that. The pls d was almost empty on a Saturday night and I can tell you why !! Go to any other comedy club anywhere but don’t waste your time here. They don’t care. Their drinks are over priced and their service and...

I went to the comic strip for my 21st bday on Jan 17/15 with a group of 14 and had nothing but problems using their phone in system where guests can call in over the phone to buy a ticket under a group and pay via credit card. I phoned 8 times correcting issues on my event being under the wrong time (this happened more than once for reasons staff could not explain), my guests being under other people's events, or being unable to track purchases. This would have been a horrible experience if we arrived with insufficient seating for 14 people and 5+ of my guests arranged to sit at other tables for random peoples events. Half of our table was facing the opposite direction of the comedian and there was not enough space for them to turn their chair towards the stage either. I loved the show, the comedians do an awesome job and the service once we were at our table was good as well. There seems to be significant administrative/professionalism issues and to top it off when I sent them an email explaining my situation the website claims they will get back to you within 72 hours…it's been a week and a half and nobody has bothered to address my email. I'd be weary of booking big events with them based on the demonstrated inability to successfully book a 14 person b-day party or to provide remedy for dissatisfied customers. I almost wish there were two ratings I could provide…one for the actual comedians/servers (5/5) and one for the...
