Blaze Bistro and Lounge — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Having eaten here for one overpriced traditional breakfast and two suppers I can attest that while the food is generally good, you can find alternatives at better prices all around. That said there are some standout items.

The coffee is always amazing. They serve Starbucks Pike Place roast any time of the day. The service is generally good to excellent. The side options such as the barley risotto and the sweet potato mash taste excellent.

Where Blaze loses me is on price for value. A standard two egg breakfast with coffee is $18. Nothing special about it. Potatoes are bland. Coffee is great. The fish supper had overcooked fish that didn't taste bad but also wasn't fresh tasting. The acidulated berry topping was mild and tasty but didn't do much for the fish. Where the pea shoots mentioned in the menu description were, I do not know. I did have a lamb shank that was tender and extremely tasty. That was by far my favorite meal.

Overall, some items of worth. Eat your standard breakfast elsewhere like Stella's at Plug-in for a better food experience at half the price. Go to Nuburger for a better burger. If you want a classier environment, Blaze...

I often stay in hotels all over North America and I have to say that this is one of my favourite restaurants I've had the pleasure to eat at. I had one of their burgers and it was to die for. This was my second time eating there and it was just as impressive as the first time.

Another benefit of this restaurant is the server named Allen who also works the bar. I usually give the same standard tip to every service I get. Allen however, went beyond my expectations with his genuine friendly service.

I am looking forward to my next stay at the Delta in Winnipeg so that I can have a meal at...

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. I have never experienced worse customer service than in this hotel restaurant. Our server took over 20 minutes to bring us our drinks followed by over 45 minutes for food from the time we ordered. When we asked to just leave without our food the manager, Santi, asked us to wait a couple more minutes (which ended up being over 10 minutes) when we brought up concerns with him we were instantly shut down. Worst of all, all that was compensated was 12$ off....
