Solid food. The chef Sean comes out and checks with all of his clients got feedback. My favorite out of the items we ordered was the jerk chicken. It was not spicy, but we were told later that we could have adjusted the spice level. We did recommend that the server let us know ahead of time for those that are new coming in. The ox tail soup was good. The rice and peas (which are actually beans) were bland, however if you eat it with something more flavorful such as the jerk chicken or the oxtail it balances out. My one disappointment was the amount of plantains given which was two pieces as a side. We did speak to them about how it didn't seem balanced and the price point appears high for that. If it was priced better it would easily be a go to. The sorrel drink has a bite to it. It hits you in the back of the throat. If you want something different than your regular drinks and have never tried it, I would definitely recommend. Service is casual and friendly. Parking is Street parking. There is some in front of the restaurant, but they go fast, but you can drive a bit too the side streets.

Someone just recommended this place to me and I’m kicking myself for not noticing this place way way way earlier!!! I was able to pull up right out front and wandered in, I was greeted immediately and offered a cosy table and a menu along with some tasty recommendations about what to order, everything looked so good but I settled for my favourites Oxtail, festival and Plantains which came cooked to perfection and were full of incredible flavour! Wow this place is probably one of the most Authentic Yard (Jamaican) restaurants in the city! Simple but amazing and pleasant ambiance with Glen Washington, Beres Hammond, Taurus Riley, Bob Marley, Sanchez and other Reggae greats playing in the background the food is 100% authentic it’s so flavourful and bubbled to perfection wow! I can’t recommend this place enough to people! Incredible experience really and the Staff are so friendly and nice! Home made Sorrel was incredible!

Delicious food but there was miscommunication from the waitress. After i finished my first two dishes, i came to the front desk and said that i was still hungry and wanted to order the jerk chicken. The request was mean to eat in not take out. She thought i wanted the jerk chicken to be a take out. I was so surprised because there was no confirmation and waited for 20 minutes until she told me to come to the front desk to receive the order in takeout box. I was surprised and not happy. I said i was still hungry and wanted to order more. Outside temperature was really cold and i walked all the way from polo park to enjoy the food but that was some non common sense.

If you're looking for a restaurant that delivers Caribbean flavors with a personal touch, K&S Island Grill is the place to be. We had the pleasure of trying their Jerk Fish Sandwich with fries, Jerk Chicken Roti, Curried Shrimp, and Fried Plantain, and each dish was a standout in its own way.

The Jerk Fish Sandwich was the highlight for me—the fish was perfectly grilled, infused with smoky jerk spices, and complemented by the chef’s house-made sauce. It had just the right balance of heat and flavor, making every bite a delight. The Jerk Chicken Roti was packed with tender, well-seasoned chicken wrapped in soft, flaky roti, delivering a comforting yet bold taste. As for the appetizers, the Curried Shrimp had a rich, aromatic curry sauce, while the Fried Plantain offered a sweet contrast to the spiced dishes.

What made our visit even more special was Chef Shawn, the owner, who took the time to chat with us about the dishes and his unique approach to cooking. His passion for his craft is evident in every bite, making K&S Island Grill a must-try for anyone looking for something different and delicious.

We’re already planning to return to try the desserts and oxtail soup—if the rest of the menu is anything like what we had, we know...

Do Not Order from this restaurant.... the customer service is beyond deplorable!

I made an order for 6 beef patties and received 6 burnt patties. They were so burnt i could smell the burn before opening the box. I contacted the restaurant about it to indicate they were burnt, it was unacceptable to receive burnt food and what recourse was there for me because they did not meet my standards and I was not goingto be able to eat them. My first attempt contacting the restaurant the gentleman I spoke to indicated he had no time to talk to me because the patties were ok by his standards, he then hung up on me abruptly. I called back asking to speak with someone else only for the guy to hang up on me again. I then reached out to Doordarsh as the order was placed through doordash. I did not see this as a doordash matter because it was regarding the food. The experience I've had with this restaurant, I will be taking my business elsewhere. In the current economic settings alot of restaurants have had to close their doors permanently, I cannot understand the response from this place. As I take the time out of my husy schedule to write this, the burn of the patties have stained my nostrils....
