We came last Friday when they opened at 5 and were seated immediately for 2 people! The atmosphere and service here is good.
We were intrigued by the menu but unfortunately the food missed the mark for us. We are huge foodies so for us it’s all about flavour and execution, which we felt was lacking from the dining experience.
The anchovy toast and broccoli were both solid, that was the highlight of the meal for us. And the beer was also good! I won’t elaborate on every dish we ate but I will provide some honest feedback. For context we ordered 10 dishes.
The salmon crudo didn’t taste like crudo. It tasted like the salmon was either smoked or cured. Great fish nonetheless, and I’ll eat a plate of salmon any day and still enjoy it but the overall dish was underwhelming and the only flavour that carried was lox.
The beef tartare was probably our biggest letdown of the night. The reviews had our expectations high but honestly there were too many elements of the dish that didn’t work together, we couldn’t taste the beef, and the honey butter sauce was unpleasant.
We really wanted to enjoy it but I guess our palates didn’t align as well as we had hoped for! I don’t think we’ll be back but thank you...

Tapas style shareable menu items. All delicious. We left very satisfied. For two; small to medium menu section. The large section shareable are for 2-4.
I’m told the reservations are booked out by a fair amount but if you show up at opening you can sometimes just walk-in. We walked in and asked for bar-rail and sat right away, which let us chat with the bartenders. They’re social, charismatic, knowledgeable, and give good recommendations.
Beef tartare tasted great and we also tried the lobster roll (very good), pickerel beignets, and chili potato manti - all delicious unique flavour experiences.
Also tried the non-alcoholic elderflower negroni (very good, tasted like I was having a proper cocktail) and the Thai Ball.
Great venue, lots of positive excited energy. Definitely give them a try. I will be back another time to try their large plates menu items as well as the sweets section....
Read moreWe were super excited to try Baby Baby after moving into the Exchange District and loving Clementine. The hype was real and the drinks? Nick, formerly from Patent 5, was on fire behind the bar. Seriously, the cocktails were amazing.
But, honestly, the food didn’t quite hit the mark. A lot of the dishes didn’t match the menu descriptions, like the beignets with pickrel ragout (which wasn’t mentioned) and the endive salad that came with a ton of cheddar cheese. It felt like the dishes were overcomplicated for no reason, and honestly, not every dish needs to be loaded with dairy. A little more balance and variety would go a long way. It’s important to list allergens and give people options that cater to different tastes.
Would we go back? For sure but we’d love to see a menu that’s a bit more thoughtful, especially with less reliance on dairy. The potential is there, just a few tweaks could make a big difference.
Nick, keep those drinks coming. You nailed it. Can’t wait for...
