I can't count how many times we have passed this hidden gem in the downtown scene and we were always in a rush to stop in. That changed today finally and let me tell you folks, we're not ever making that mistake again!!! The BOGO Fish & Chips deal is what sealed the deal as we seen the chalkboard ad 😋 GO THERE!!! EAT THE BEST F&C MEAL YOU WILL EVER HAVE IN YOUR LIFETIME!!! AND GO BACK again and again!!! I know we will be getting back there sooner than later. And make sure you get to know Olivia the bartender 😉 awesome service, even better personality!!! Can't believe it took us this long to finally enjoy some really great food, people and ambience 🤩💞💚

The underground atmosphere was warm and inviting, with an old-time feel. It was pretty busy for a Wednesday night. I tried the braised onion soup with cheesy ciabata bread, for a starter. I had the ale cod and fries for the main dish. The soup wasn't overly seasoned and good. The cod was hot and the breading light. The waitress Maggie, was new, friendly and didn't have any recommendations. She was attentive and timely. A nice neighborhood crowd for a quiz night. I was visiting from the States. If recommend this place for good pub food.

You know what's great? Shannon's! I think winnipeggers often forget about this hole in the wall (basement) pub. They always deliver on good times, friendly staff and great food. The laid back atmosphere is welcoming for all, everyone is at home here. The drink special of the night? Water, shaken, not stirred, a fun treat/joke from our excellent server Marissa :) We will be back!

First of all I want to state that I would never normally leave a one star for anything.

I was recently in Winnipeg on business as I travel a lot and I check out a lot of pubs and restaurants in Canada.

I was staying at a hotel near downtown and wanted to check out something fairly close and I am normally a fan of diners or divey type ambiance so I decided to check out Shannon's Irish Pub based on a review on here.

So I got a cab to take me there and being female I usually know what to expect heading to these places, I went with another female colleague although I know she is more of the martini Earl's type. I promised her we would have a good time and "divey" bars are just a name and it's not actually scary to be at. Well boy was I wrong.

The location was in a super strange spot, the service was horrible. I am not sure if the server was jealous because we were females but the clientele was really rough and mainly men who looked like they had been there all day. The bathrooms were very very dirty, no paper towels or soap !!!!

The place looked like it hadn't been cleaned in years. The food tasted like it was heated up in the microwave and the beer was flat and over priced . I realize the last review on this place was over 15 months ago so I felt like it was my place to inform you that this place is not what the other reviews make it seem. It is not a dive...It is a DUMP!!!!

I am quite easy to please and I really think that maybe at one point in time this may have truly been a dive bar with decent food and live music but I am afraid that is no more.

I would avoid this place at all costs and I was extremely disappointed as I had many places I could have gone and tried but convinced my friend that this...

We came here before the jets game, we were greeted by the server and ordered a drink while hearing about the specials

We ordered drinks en they came quickly, then our fourth came and the waitress never came by for awhile, after he ordered his drink it was about 15-20 minutes before the drink came to the table and we were able to order food. We asked how long the food would take because we wanted to head to the rink soon she said quicker than the drinks. So we ordered food, a few items we wanted were unavailable due to it being a game day.

After the food was ordered our waitress disappeared for awhile again, finally after about 30 Min I asked if we could cancel our order we want to head to the rink soon she said it was already plated and just needed to be grabbed. Food came out a couple of the sides were wrong. Overall food was okay except for the wings were undercooked we sent one of the wing orders back she discounted a few items. Waitress seemed very flustered she said they didn’t expect it to be this busy.

Very disappointed in the experience we aren’t from Winnipeg and this was a recommended place and it did not live up to...

I had a horrible experiance. Besides the talented live band. The bar tender assaulted my husband because he thought he was drunk. We had two pints of beer. And my husband walked by the bar his jacket got caught on the bar stool and knocked it over. The bar tender cut him off. Then came to our table and saw a beer at our table. He assumed my husband was drinking it, even though the glass was full. And assaulted him. I got in his face and he let go of him. But to put this in perspective. We are in our mid 30s, we know how to handle our booze and dont get out of hand. We dont go out often and wanted to grab a couple beers at a chill bar. We will NEVER go there again. This occurred on Friday night October 12.

Response to the manager: No plans on contacting your business regarding further concerns. As I said I'll never go back, nor will friends who were with us, or other friends I've told. It's bad review. Based on a bad experience from a bar tender that seems think hes worked soo long he thinks he can assault customers. Based on his assumptions. And yes he did assault my husband, no need for the quotations. So Thanx...
