If you like laughably small portions of mediocre food at theme park prices, then you should love Wayback. In terms of flavor, it was meh. With no sear whatsoever on the beef of my Double Bacon Burger, it had the approximate taste and mouth-feel of a Wendy’s offering. My wife and my son both ordered chicken sandwiches, and I thought the marinade on the chicken was nice. Our fries, such as they were, were well seasoned. But that’s about as much good as I can report. In terms of value, well, let’s just say the dismal value overshadowed any good that could be said. Even my kids were disappointed with their meals. For myself, having picked up the tab, I felt robbed. Everyone’s meal looked like it came off of a toddler’s menu. Their $6 pick a pair bought me 4 small onion rings, enough fries to fit in a baby’s fist (and they were all hard edges) and a drink with about 6 ounces of liquid in it. And judging by the fact that the drink machine was positioned behind the counter, free refills were not on offer. Let’s just conclude this by saying the 1 star is for consistency: Wayback left us all feeling equally let down and wanting to put the experience behind us forever. But don’t get me wrong. I understand the vibe and the position in the marketplace they were aiming for. They just missed the target by a long shot. And they simply won’t survive if all us consumers can expect is fast food quality at sit down prices. My guess is that somewhere between the sit down’s and the fast food giants (which I’m personally done with), the many competitors in this space and the many mom & pop alternatives that don’t just outperform Wayback but all of the aforementioned in every possible category, they will get absolutely crushed. And, like it or not, it will be...
Read moreThe only reason I'm giving any stars is solely for the quality of the shake. Came in to order 3 of the advertised peach milkshakes tonight, sat there for 25 minutes waiting for those 3 shakes. With 7 staff working I feel it shouldn't take THAT long to get 3 drinks out. I sat and watched the staff during this time and the 2 storefront employees were beyond unorganized, touching their hair and just rinsing with water not using soap, starting a job then walking off to do something else. 2 people in the back just standing there majority of the time. Shouldn't take 2 people to make milkshakes and switching jobs every 5 minutes if not more frequently. If there is a manager there they definitely need some guidance on coordinating jobs efficiently. If there wasn't a manager they definitely need one. Also had to request the whipped cream that the shake was advertised with 🤦🏽♀️ so frustrating to drive as far as we did for these drinks and feel so disappointed with...
Read moreTakeout order for Cheesy Burger(pepper jack), Chilli Cheese Fries, Dbl Bacon Cheeseburger(no onion), Irish Nachos, iced tea & Tangerine Lemonade.
Cheesy burger— Top-tier. Toasted bun was buttery and crisp. Cheese to meat ratio was perfect. Every bite hit right.
Chilli cheese fries — chilli was good, good fry coverage down to the bottom.
Dbl bacon cheeseburger — Bacon was perfect crunch/chew. Patty was seasoned and cooked right. Veg was fresh. Not overly condimented(is that a word?). Definitely a hearty burger.
Irish Nachos(pictured) — these were fn delicious. Completely surprised by this one for real. Chips were made in-house, perfectly fried/salted. Taco meat was A+. Onions and Jalapeños were just strong enough to bring it all together nicely. Definitely must-try.
Tangerine Lemonade — A little on the sweeter side, but used a Tangerine ice cube!! Brilliant.
Service was prompt & professional. Establishment was clean & tidy.
Definitely...
