Mark's Chop Suey — Restaurant in Woodstock

The food is usually very good but this time I got a very very over cooked meal. I called into the restaurant and the person that answered the phone for them as usual was extremely rude as others have previously mentioned in the reviews. Normally the food is so good I just deal with it. I had the owner call me back and was very surprised that he was telling me about his family problems and about how it's hard to find good people to cook and his wife is yelling in the background at him while I'm on the phone with him. Finally when he starts to deal with my problem asks me what he can do to make it right. I tell him that since everything but the rice was drastically over cooked I believe is more then reasonable to get my meal replaced. I am then told he will give me a discount the next time I order but won't replace my meal. He then goes back and forth for 10 more minutes trying to justify why him(owner) isn't his fault. I have recommended this store to a lot of people over the last few years since living here and ordered myself at minimum 30 times. Had eaten here several years ago and it was OK.. so went back and the experience was sub par to say the least. Young waitress obviously untrained, waited for 15 to have our order taken, simple 2 items, waited another half hour for the lemon chicken to arrive, then the plates, then the silverware dropped on the table, chicken looked like deep fried fish with hard batter you could hardly cut, then had to ask for the second part of our order which is usually a fast dish to arrive about 5 minutes later. Special fried rice had a burnt taste... we should have got up and walked out without paying but that isn't in our upbringing.. They seem to have a large take out clientele. I should have taken a picture of the the food.. really turned us off. Called here today to inquire about their dinner for 2 prices. When he told me the price I asked why the price was a lot higher than Uber Eats price. I know they charge 20% different from what I have been told but their dinner for 2 price is almost $50 on Uber eats. The guy who answered was VERY rude and Belligerant swearing at me on the phone. I honestly couldn't believe it. When I asked when the owner was in he again started being aggressive yelling and swearing at me and saying is that all you got? When he was started yelling at me I started recording the conversation. The second time I asked when the owners were in he hung up on me. Little does he know I have dealt with the owers and have ordered there many times. The owners have actually personally delivered to me.
