If I could I'd give it 0 stars. I bet some days it can be a nice place to visit, yet that doesn't seem to be the norm. Once you enter the rooftop the place is empty and dark, after passing by the empty and abandoned domes, you find your way to the bar where no one greets you unless you ask around (despite the reservation). After being led to a table where you feel the best breeze of santiago and all the cold without the bother heaters (there are none, fr), you can taste one of the very few snacks on the menu and a drink of your choice... the atmosphere? A part time dj who's gonna leave before you do, some random people who are all competing who's colder than the other, few places to sit by and only a few with decent light, oh and none has view to the outside, so yeah, you can'T enjoy the superb views of santiago.... at least they take your orders, but you gotta be careful cuz there's no way knowing who's working there and who's the client... also, on our way back nobody sent us off, much less told us how to call the elevator.
In short, it's my first time going somewhere I can't stand being more than an hour. So I had to write it here. Hope it helps others avoid a bad experience and wasting money. And perhaps the owner will reflect on where he's...
Read moreI recently had a disappointing experience at this place during my visit to Santiago. My partner and i had made a reservation to enjoy the sunset, but upon arrival, we were kept waiting for 15 minutes due to a mistake with our reservation. While we understand that errors can occur, the delay was frustrating as the sun was nearly down by the time we were seated.
To make matters worse, when we politely inquired about expediting the process, we were met with a very poor attitude from the staff, the host and later, particularly the manager. The manager's dismissive response, including refusing to speak English, because in his words, “we are in Chile” in an international hotel setting, was both surprising and unwelcoming.
While the location of the bar is undoubtedly stunning, the lack of professionalism and customer service we experienced greatly detracted from our overall enjoyment of the evening. It is disappointing to encounter such a negative attitude, especially in a hospitality industry where customer satisfaction should be paramount.
I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for the W hotel to improve their reservation management and customer service practices...
Read moreFirstly this IS the terrace bar of the W Hotel, so don't go looking for it separately. The views are utterly spectacular so for that alone it's worth the visit.
The bar, especially for a W Hotel is dreadfully ran and shabby. Doors hanging off cupboards, glasses sitting uncleaned on a run down stainless steel cupboard (saw a girl knock down two glasses off the stack within 20 mins), paint chipping off the bar and rubbish and old bits of food on the floor. A stack of glasses on the bar taking up valuable bar space.
Staff are friendly but not very well organised. As someone who ran bars many years ago I would retrain the manager or...
