Municipal Theatre of Santiago — Attraction in Santiago

genuinely my favorite tour in Santiago!! (even though my tour guide didn’t speak english and my spanish is spotty at best). Recommend going to the box office (clear door to the right when facing the building) a few days before to secure a ticket. I went an hour or so before would have gotten shut out if I hadn’t come back just before the tour started, and someone else failed to show up. The staff there was very kind and super helpful in getting me squared away and where I needed to be on time though! On the tour, we could hear someone practicing for a symphony concert in many of the halls, saw real ballerinas and opera singers practicing, and got to go backstage. For a theatre nerd like me, this is was an unbelievably good experience for just 8.000 CLPs. I want to live in this...

Asistimos a disfrutar de un verdadero espectáculo , Don Pasquale , Opera versión concierto al Teatro Municipal de Santiago de Chile. Exquisita obra arquitectonica de estilo Neoclásico, hecha realidad por el famoso Arquitecto Claudio Brunet des Baines,

ÓPERA, interpretada Magistralmente por todos y cada uno de sus integrantes. Es una verdadera caricia al alma disfrutar su interpretación. Absolutamente recomendable.

DON PASQUALE | ÓPERA VERSIÓN CONCIERT

El Municipal de Santiago presentará en versión concierto, la ópera bufa Don Pasquale de Gaetano Donizetti, que marca el esperado debut de Evelino Pidò, un experto en este repertorio y que alternará la dirección de la Orquesta Filarmónica de Santiago con su director residente Pedro-Pablo Prudencio. El Coro del Municipal de Santiago también estará presente, a cargo de su director titular Jorge Klastornick. La dirección dramática será de Francisco Krebs y la iluminación de Ricardo Castro.

En el elenco destaca el tenor español Celso Albelo, una de las voces más destacadas del bel canto y que debuta en el Municipal de Santiago en el rol de Ernesto. Destacan también los bajo-barítonos Vazgen Gazaryan (Armenia/Alemania) y Ricardo Seguel (Chile), en el papel de Don Pasquale; los barítonos Javier Weibel (Chile) y Felipe Carelli (Argentina), como Doctor Malatesta; y las sopranos Sabina Puértolas (España), en su retorno al Teatro, y Annya Pinto (Chile), quienes estarán interpretando a Norina.

December 2022 1☆ for the website and the ticket office. First impression was negative. The Visa credit card was not working onba website. The ticket office had only 1super slow person selling tickets. Posted work hours were not correct for the ticket office.

2☆ for the comfort of the theatre. No air conditioning! It was a sauna for 2 hours of Mahler's Resurrection on December 10th! Super uncomfortable seats and constant going off of the cell phones.

Heard Resurrection before in Vienna and loved it. I do not want to comment on the quality of the performance due to not being comfortable throughout the performance.

Some serious upgrades needed for this...
