I used to come here 4-5 times a week a few years ago, consume breakfast and lunch every time as I'd come with my laptop. I knew the staff by name and they knew me, unfortunately the cafe has declined over time. Staff's changed, sockets have been covered, some tables and chairs have changed, and the complete move to disposable utensils including cups is what annoyed me the most. At least in the past, you'd get ceramic cups. For a cafe that's charging 44hkd for a latte, you would at least expect a ceramic mug. Instead, you get this origami cup that's so uncomfortable to drink from. And so I stopped coming. Today was the first time in two years I had a coffee here.
This is the problem with F&B outlets. They complain that people in HK aren't spending but don't really investigate why. They make changes without realising that those changes aren't small details, they are making their place less hospitable, and when you become less hospitable, people like myself...
