Their egg tarts has been a hot topic in town and I know exactly why it is so popular. I eat a hot egg tart straight out of the oven after purchasing it at noon. Although the size is rather small, it is phenomonal. The smell is buttery but the tart itself is not greasy. The shell is exactly like a croissant, well-laminated with thin layers of crispiness and flakiness lying on top of each other. The filling is not sweet but the taste of egg is rather weak. My favourite bit of it is the ratio that every bite of filling is wrapped with the thin layers of pastries. I tried another at home after reheating in the oven on the same day. Despite the shell is not as flaky and the inner part of the shell becomes soggy, it is still a good egg tart after all. I also bought an almond croissant and reheated it at home but the pastry isn’t as flaky and fragrant as I expected. The centre is a bit soggy and the almond paste tastes fake somehow. Perhaps you should try the original flavour. Tips to buy egg tarts, the freshly baked ones are sold at 9:30, 12:00, 3:00, and the queue is pretty long, so line up earlier to purchase as many...
Read moreVisited this bakery in Cityplaza with my friend after our Haikyuu movie day. . We ordered half dozen egg tarts, which were their signature dessert. The dessert had a crispy and buttery croissant tart base, filled with a luscious and rich custard that carries a hint of caramel flavour. The custard was extremely smooth, creating a harmonius and flavourful combination with the tart base. While the tarts were on the sweeter side, I personally enjoyed this level of sweetness. . In addition to the egg tart, the bakery offers a diverse selection of pastries, including scones, apple crumble, croissants, etc. . Their signature dessert, egg tart, is freshly baked at three designated timeslots, namely 9:30am, 12:00pm and 03:00pm. Due to its popularity, each customer can only purchase a maximum of a dozen egg tarts per...
Read moreNewly opened bakery in Taikoo, featuring chef Stephen from Rosewood Hotel. The shop currently offers around 20 type of pastries, both savory and sweet.
The egg tarts ($12) are quite nice, reminds me of those from Bake House, especially when it comes out hot by the hour!
I also got the Ham & Cheese Croissant (which is also a similar concept to the one from Bake House), but this one with a twist of baked Camembert cheese in the middle instead of regular Swiss cheese. It was nice to heat it up for a hearty breakfast.
Hopefully the pricing can stay competitive as currently most items are priced...
