Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at City of Darkness for some delicious hotpot. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the nostalgia-inducing decor that evoked the old Kowloon Walled City dai pai dong style. The 80's music that was playing only added to the ambiance, and hearing Anita Mui's iconic voice brought back a flood of memories.

The menu at City of Darkness offers an impressive array of soup bases to choose from, but we decided on the clam soup, and it did not disappoint. The portion of clams was generous, and the soup was perfectly seasoned and flavorful.

We went a bit overboard with our order, selecting Angus beef, goose intestine, duck blood, various meatballs, cuttlefish slices, crisp fish slices, vegetables, and more. The variety and quality of the ingredients were excellent, and everything was fresh and well-prepared.

To accompany our meal, we ordered beer, which was served with a chilled rice bowl, a thoughtful touch that added to the overall experience.

One thing is worth to mention is the noise level at City of Darkness can be quite high when the restaurant is almost full. This is likely due to the low ceiling and the lively atmosphere of the place. While it didn't detract too much from the overall experience, it's worth noting for those who prefer a quieter dining environment.

Overall, dining at City of Darkness was a delightful experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nostalgic trip down memory lane while enjoying...

Great experience at this restaurant, came here for lunch on a weekend which they’re currently doing a set for 2 for only $488. The set menu comes with 1 fried appetizer (響鈴 and 魚皮), 1 plate of beef, 5 set of different meatballs, 3 set of dumplings, 2 choice of additional ingredients, a serving of noodles/carbs and a basket of vegetables. Definitely enough for 2 and would highly recommend this set if you are going with a small party of people as you get to try a variety of food. Ingredients were fresh and generally all the food was average or above. Service was friendly. Decor was cute with its local historical hk vibe. Tables were well spaced and so felt comfortable. Would recommend to book in advance cause the place is pretty small with...

This nostalgic hot pot restaurant transports you to 70s/80s Hong Kong with its vintage decor—think Kowloon Emperor calligraphy, comic murals, and neon signs. Must-tries include the homemade ginger scallion oil and satay sauce, both bursting with flavor. The Beef Lover Platter features six premium cuts, each tender and rich. Fresh seafood like Scottish razor clams and sea prawns are clean and succulent. Don’t miss the handmade five-treasure meatballs—bouncy and flavorful! Dual-flavored broths like tomato beef brisket and satay are hearty and delicious. With friendly service, retro vibes, and $1 beer deals, it’s a...
