Really wanted to come here for the oyster night but had to settle for the lobster night instead. Showed up a bit early and was seated immediately by the hostess. You MUST check out the awesome metal sculpture before entering the restaurant, it’s so cool! I was shown to my table which was next to the window and the view was insane! My own mistake but I thought lobster night meant we’d each get 1 lobster but it was actually 1 lobster and 4set side dishes for 2 people. You get to pick the sauce the lobster is cooked with. I got the curry and it was pretty tasty the lobster was a different story. You’d think a restaurant featuring a specific ingredient would have fatter meatier lobsters especially if they’re expecting 2 people to share it. The lobster star was scrawny and the meat was pretty lean. The service was also pretty disappointing not sure if it was because the place only had 4 tables seated cuz it was early but the servers kept hovering and seemed like they were looking something to do. If there’s one thing I can’t stand is when servers are constantly clearing my table and here they were doing that in extreme. At one point I took the bread from the basket to pull off a piece and they came and took away the basket. Leaving me to use the rice plate to also now also be the bread basket. Before we even finished they kept asking if we were done and would grab plates that still had food on it and take them away. My dining porter asked for an extra piece of bread and was informed that if he wanted more bread it would be an extra $10. I find that gross, not the $10but the way it was handled. There must be a better way like having that written into the menu or something. While I was finishing my meal the server went into overdrive to clear my table taking my place mat and wiping when I wasn’t even done. I understand if there’s a long line outside and servers try to keep it moving but the place only had 4 tables occupied there was no reason for anxiety ridden server to behave that way. Totally ruined my whole experience! I expected a certain experience at such a beautiful restaurant with those gorgeous views but what I got was a VERY expensive Cha Chan Teng...
Read moreSpectacular view of the harbour and at that height it actually looks clean! !!!😂😂😂 Food was very Thai influenced which I was apprehensive about given the prices you were being charged but it was really really delicious. And with the executive lunch menu at $200 for 3 courses it was really worth it given the price of al la carte dishes and the ambience of the place. I ordered a roti with pork belly for entree and beef rice noodles for a main with Japanese cheesecake for dessert. My friend ordered prawn glass noodle salad, baked barramundi, and a mango pomelo sago with coconut ice cream. We also ordered chili and salt squid. The squid was really good with a slight bite to it without being too spicy. It worked really well with the aoli and chili sauces. The noodle salad was well made but tasted like any authentic thai salad you can get for a fraction of the price. The star of the day however was the roti which was really unexpected. The pork belly was marinated and served chopped with fresh tomatoes and veg sandwiched inside the roti. Never had roti served in this manner but I'm really glad I have now. The fish was amazing as well. It was marinated in a red paste and baked in banana leaf. The marinade wasn't overpowering and the fish was fresh, moist and soft. I could probably eat 5 of this in one go. The rice noodles however turned out quite disappointing compared to the other dishes. It was basically fried Chinese XO rice rolls, abit too oily and abit too salty. The cheesecake was baked and very nice but the mango and pomelo sago was another amazing dish. Very refreshing, light with beautiful pomelo, mango and coconut flavors you can taste individually. Overall, a very satisfying experience and I would definitely go out of my way to come here again. Highly recommended for both the food and...
