I was craving an affordable steak at noon on a Tuesday. I searched a few places in Causeway Bay, but most had mixed reviews and seemed overpriced. I decided to play it safe by going to the Outback in the Festiva food court at JP Plaza. Turns out, it's been closed down. So, still craving red meat, I happened to see a lunch set offered by Don Don Tei, which is located just below Outback. The server greeted me kindly before I even stepped inside. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively at lunch, with staff greeting guests and smiling kindly. I was welcomed with hot tea and the lunch set menu. I immediately ordered the steak set, medium rare. I was given a udon or soba noodles option, hot or cold. I chose the cold soba. I added an iced peach tea to my meal. The drink came quickly, and the large platter of dishes directly after. The presentation was lovely! My steak was flavorful, hot and perfectly cooked. Not fatty and with a delightfully seared outside. The meal came with a hearty miso soup, side salad, soba noodles in a delicious cold broth, excellent rice, little sweet potatoes, and a palette cleansing pickled radish slice. I was impressed with the portions for the price, and my hot tea was never empty! I would definitely recommend for lunch, and I will go back to try their other offerings. My meal was $168 + $22 for the added special drink, plus $21 for the 10% service fee. A total of $211 for a very filling and...
Read moreI love DDT so I have been here so many times. There were three branches but only CWB remains. The one at WTS served mainly donburi, while the one at Hung Hom serves an extended menu of the one at WTS with sashimi as well.
As I haven't tried the CWB branch, I decided to give it a go, again the menu is so different and they serve mainly sets but as the soba was good at WTS, we decided to try the sobas.
My first favourite was the soba roll with sea prawn tempura.
It looked quite sophisticated.
I tried it without the sauce and it wasn't tasteless because it was mixed with mayonnaise which complemented the prawn very well.
However it was a slight challenge to eat.
Next was the cold soba with sashimi which was soba covered in an abundance of salad.
After mixing everything together, it became a delicious noodle salad which is healthy and perfect on a hot day.
Last but not least was the Soba Tsukemen which tasted like Sukiyaki because of the sweetness and it was more filling but not too heavy as the onions are there...

Cashier, Reception counter or Doorway), which has violated the Law of Hong Kong that operating a business without the Business Registration Certificate, once convicted the fine would be HK$5000 and one year imprisonment. Due to no H.K. Business Registration Certificate there, it is difficult to ensure if FEHD License shown there is genuine or not. Having the foods there is very high risky with the safety of food. Therefore the Association is appealing to the Hong Kong Citizen not to go to this restaurant for...
