Green Veggie — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

I always wanted to try out this place. So I took out a rice dish. It was very good and I’ll eat inside next time.

They have set meals which look very interesting. They also sell frozen food stuff and moon cakes.

This particular Green Veggie restaurant at 254-272 Jaffe Road is distinct from others and is particularly noted for its active charity model.

I went back and rice noodles with vegetarian beef. Pretty terrible and expensive. Barely any veggies and beef - with tea it cost $84 during tea time. Neither the taste were good, nor the quantity and price.

I had the lunch set - which is a vegetarian take on This-This-Rice and in my case This-This-This-Rice which costed $48.

The items tasted very nice. I’d rate it as 4.5 ⭐️ and Ma Po Tofu was particularly good. Rating it 4 ⭐️ would not be okay so they get 5 ⭐️. The soup can use some improvement though with additional veggies (I felt the veggies were less than they should have been). Very decent quantity.

I was there around 12:15PM and there was a queue to buy the lunch set. Despite being vegetarian, this place is super popular!

Very unorganised service.

We reached at 7.10 PM on Saturday night, our 1st day in HK. No 1 at door to take reservation while tables are full, waited 10 minutes and then went inside to end of restaurant where a sort of counter for platting is there.

Told lady that we need table for 3, she said wait. Waited 10-15 minutes and saw people coming randomly and after us getting table.

Asked 1 of the customer who finished their food to help us understand what the scene is... She was told by waiter that they are not taking more customers ... This was at 7.40 while they say they close at 9.30.

We waited for 25 minutes with a dead tired kid to be told to go away.
