Went to this resto to yum cha with my family before my bro left. . We ordered the following dishes: -Steamed Barbecued Pork Rice Roll The rice roll contained steamed barbecue pork and coriander. Its skin was thin, and the pork was not very meaty.
-Steamed Barbecued Pork Buns Didn't try this, but it looked quite substantial.
-Steamed Custard Buns with Salted Egg Yolk The buns were hotly-served and had a yummy egg yolk filling with the right amount of sweetness.
-Honeycomb Tripes with Black Pepper The tripes were well-marinated and tasted slightly spicy with black pepper. The portion was not that much though.
-Steamed Minced Pork Dumplings The dumplings were filled with hot soup. Dipping them in vinegar reduced their greasiness, and the skin of the dumplings was a bit thick.
-Steamed Chicken Feet with Black Bean Sauce Not particularly memorable.
-Steamed Shrimp Dumplings The shrimp was fresh, and the skin of the dumplings was thin.
-Steamed Minced Pork & Shrimp Dumplings The dumplings were savoury and fulfilling, with a balanced portion of minced pork and shrimp.
-Pan-fried Turnip Cakes The turnip cakes were nicely fried with a golden surface and were not greasy at all. . The tea charge was HKD15 per person. The resto was predominantly decorated in gold, wood and white colours, with some Peking opera decorations. . Unfortunately, the staff accidentally spilled a plate of sauces on my mother while packing. However, they simply walked away after giving us some tissues and never came back...
Read moreCool little spot for a mix of Chinese cuisines in one place. They serve up both northern Chinese, southern Chinese and Sichuan cuisine. The real stars of their menu are the Sichuan dishes, and the southern Chinese dishes should be avoided. We had the steamed chicken with numbing chilis and this was amazing. Flavors were balanced and the chicken was permeated with flavor. The cold sliced pork with chili and garlic was also great; the garlic sauce was fragrant and paired well with the pork and cucumber. The stir fried celtuce was also above expectations; stir fried well and not overly salty. The large portion of sliced mandarin fish with preserved cabbage was great to have in cold weather. The fish was tender and the soup really warmed you up. The biggest let down was the fried squid with salt and pepper; this was by far one of the worse versions of this dish I have tried; the squid wasn't properly scored and the batter was falling off the squid. Overall a great experience, but stick with the...
Read moreAmong all the Chinese restaurants i have visited so far, this is the only one that offers Chrysanthemum tea; it's light and refreshing. Definitely an incentive to lure me back for a second time. As for the food quality, morning tea session offers discount combos and if the food items on the list suit your taste buds, you are bound to get a really good deal. Totally fall for the scorching hot and fluffy congee. Besides, the veggies in the veggie dumplings give you the crunchiness that undoubtedly signify freshness as you savor them in your mouth. Overall impression, good food, good hygiene, good customer service, quick orders, what more can...
