Usually, izakayas are focused on their sake and alcoholic drinks, 🍶 but this restaurant also provides a great variety and delicious Japanese dishes and skewers! 🍢 This is a perfect place for hanging out with friends too! Here is what I recommend:

•𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐥 火山 As the name mentioned, this lit up like a volcano! 🌋 Mixing the crab fillet, scallop, avocado, with the rice and wasabi creates a very unique taste that makes you eager for more! 😋

•𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐲 午夜牛郎 This is my favourite dish of the night! They fried the entire salmon, which is so crispy, 🤤 and added avocado and cheese as stuffing, topping it off with their homemade sauce that carries a hint of spiciness 🌶️ that gave me an unforgettable taste!

•𝐁𝐞𝐞𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐤𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐤𝐢 牛肉壽喜燒 The sukiyaki is rich in flavour with so many ingredients in it! I love the beef a lot since they are soft and filled with the sukiyaki soup flavour! 😍

•𝐁𝐁𝐐 𝐊𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐚 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐍𝐞𝐜𝐤 & 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐠 黑豚豬頸肉串 & 鹽燒雞中翼串 The pork neck is marinated with some pepper that further elevated the flavour while the wings are grilled with salt that makes it more savoury! 🥹 They are both crispy and tender, which are perfect to go with some drinks! 🍶

I recently visited a Japanese restaurant located in Causeway Bay and had a fantastic dining experience. The restaurant was very clean and maintained excellent hygiene standards, which is always reassuring.

The food was delicious, and I particularly enjoyed their salmon head soup, which had a rich and savory flavor. The unique rolls were also a highlight of the meal, and one of them even had a theatrical flame effect during the presentation.

Despite being a Japanese restaurant, the flavors were more reminiscent of Hong Kong-style cuisine, which was a pleasant surprise. Overall, my dining companion and I only ordered two rolls and one soup, and the bill came out to about HKD 400, which felt like reasonable value for the quality of the food and service.

The one that caught us by surprise was the sushi pizza. We thought it’s cold sushi on top of regular, room temperature sushi rice, but it turned out to be warm, with a hard base. The unagi was sweet and fatty. The surprised base of the pizza was done by pan-fried rice.

The grilled ox tongue pieces had good texture. They were big and not that chewy.
