Nowadays it’s a lot harder to find shops or stalls in the city that sell sugar cane juice (compared to years ago in HK when there were many….), and I’m glad to see historic shops like this place still make them. Sweet, but so refreshing and cheap; one of the best sugar cane juice in HK, and perfect for the hot, summer days we’re having lately in the city. I bought a bottle of sugarcane juice from this shop last week. It tasted good but doesn’t taste like pure sugarcane at all. To be honest I was a bit disappointed as this shop has been around for a long time. The juice tasted more like it’s mixed with water chestnut juice! I like to chew the juice out of sugarcane pieces so I know what it’s supposed to taste like and this juice doesn’t really taste like that. Sugarcane juice was served cold. So refreshing and one of the best drinks you can have after a long hike on a hot and humid day. For those who don’t like the taste of young coconut or coconut water, give sugarcane juice a try!
