Thai-Style Raw Shrimp – $118 Served sashimi-style, the raw shrimp is remarkably fresh and sweet, with no trace of fishiness — easing any concerns about hygiene. Each piece is topped with raw garlic and fresh chili, delivering a fiery punch that’s as addictive as it is intense. The natural sweetness of the shrimp contrasts beautifully with the sharp heat, creating a thrilling bite that lingers.

Minced Meat Lettuce Wrap – $88 A Thai dining staple, this lettuce wrap arrives with a generous portion of spicy minced meat and crisp, fresh lettuce leaves. The meat carries a noticeable heat that leans toward the spicier side for local palates, but wrapping it in cool lettuce tempers the intensity, offering a refreshing crunch. Plentiful enough for sharing, it brings both texture and heat to the table.

Thai Curry Beef with Roti – $108 Rich and comforting, this curry leans mild on the spice but deep in flavor. The beef rib strips are tender and plentiful — around eight to nine pieces — perfect for scooping with the accompanying Indian-style roti. The roti adds a crispy, flaky texture that complements the creamy curry sauce, making each bite deeply satisfying.

Thai Pineapple Fried Rice – $138 Presented with a side of pork floss and cashew nuts for custom seasoning, this dish is layered with textures and flavors. Inside the rice: plump prawns, sweet raisins, and diced Chinese sausage, all stir-fried to a perfectly dry consistency. Each grain is distinct and lightly golden, with just the right balance of savory and sweet. The crunch from the nuts and the optional pork floss elevate the dish further, making it a standout among classic Thai...

Even though I did not dine here. I still received terrible service trying to get a table.

Arrived at 7:30 on a Friday night Oct 22nd, 2021. I inquired how many tables are in in line and in front of me. Waitress promised me a table at 8 because she said there are tables wrapping up about to leave. So I patiently waited until 8:25, still didn't get a table. Asked again, kept telling me that there is a table wrapping up in 2 minutes, so I will be going in once they wrap up. Kept leading me on.

It's not about the wait. Its the principle! Kept lying and misleading me that there will be a table soon, so I continue to wait patiently. Completely disrespectful of my time. Don't lead me on trying to get my business. Very unprofessional for a hospitality business.

Honestly, this is not rocket science. Don't mislead me. I could have made an informed decision and dined else where from the very beginning(I could have gotten McDonald's and still got better service).

Would be nice if you were up front and I would have visited another time. Nope, never coming again.God knows, what else your team lies about.

Based on your feedbacks. Looks like your staff have a history of lying.

Such trashy business tactic. Funny thing is, you kept me waiting and there were constantly new customers walking in getting tables. Simply poor management and staff.

Good Luck staying in...

Sun Thai is a good restaurant with three branches around the city including this place on Tai Wong Street East in Wanchai. I've found them to do up consistently good traditional Thai dishes at each of their branches for sit-down meals as well as take-away/delivery if you prefer to eat within the comfort of your office, hotel or home.

Recent take-away from this branch was very good. Green Mango salad was vibrantly flavoured with a bit more spice than what I've found at their Ma On Shan branch which I order from more regularly. Their minced pork with lettuce leaf was very good, great flavour and nice eating in lettuce wrap style. Green chicken curry was nice but not very spicy this time around and noticeably less than what I've regularly found at their other branches. Might have just been a different spice level with the batch they cooked up on the day or perhaps this branch just makes their curry dishes less spicy.

In the end, Sun Thai is a good option if you are staying in the TST area or the Wanchai area where they have conveniently located branches with plenty of indoor seating along with take-away and...

Here for the first time with dear friends, they raved about it. For me, while the spaciousness and food presentations were impressive, the taste of the food was kind of watered down to suit local milder taste bud, good but not outstanding. Their service while very efficient, lack warmth and often hurried and after about an hour or so, they hover around to clean up the table to subtly ask if you need anything else, and gave u that look that we know what they were up to, so that they can turn over their customers more quickly. Fair enough on busy weekends, buy it was an uneventful Monday which weren't that busy. This is one of those reasons I dislike dining out in many venues here in Hong Kong. My friends say if you enter pass the 19:30 mark, then u can dine undisturbed until closing time 23:00. Our border has been closed for 3 years, this place may serve as a quick fix for those Thailand fans. With now the border finally opened, very soon the story may be different.
