Kamitora has one of the best Tonkotsu in Wan Chai. I would recommend trying their special set and the fried chicken.

The Tonkotsu special comes in with ramen, lean roast, pork belly roast, meat balls, an egg, and a few other toppings. The most memorable feature is their pork belly roast- its a very fatty cut, roasted and seasoned to perfection. The grease is flavorful and even have a sweetness to it, but not overbearing. It surely is a decadent treat.

The Tonkotsu broth is also top quality in Kamitora. It has a intense bone flavor. You can tell by tasting that the broth is a product of hours of simmering with tons of pork bone and that it's not being cut by MSG or miso unlike some other ramen shop in the area. I like the Tonkotsu with black garlic oil pairing the most- its aromatic, balanced and not overly salty. The original broth is also excellent. The shrimp and the spicy broth is a bit too salty/spicy that outshine the pork bone flavor.

Kamitora has the best Japanese fried chicken in the area. It's always freshly fried to order. The batter has a thickness to it that its very crispy but crumbly at the same time. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and tender. It's paired with a special mayo and fresh lemon. The portion is big- at least 4 big chunks at ~$50.

And most importantly, the dining experience is great in here. The seats are not overly packed like other ramen shops in the area and the line...

Living in Hong Kong, there are times when I crave something hearty, especially when I get tired of local cuisine. This ramen shop has become my go-to place for those moments. Although there's usually a line, I was fortunate to visit on a weekend evening around 8 PM, and I only had to wait about five minutes to be seated.

I started with the limited-time fried oysters, which were delicious and perfectly crispy. The spicy bean sprouts served as a fantastic side, adding an excellent kick to the meal. For my main dish, I ordered the black garlic ramen. The noodles were just the right thickness and cooked to perfection—neither too hard nor overly soft, which I truly appreciated.

The broth was a wonderful blend of classic tonkotsu and rich black garlic oil, offering a deep, savory flavor that was incredibly satisfying. It was served at the perfect temperature, warm enough to enjoy without burning my tongue.

One of my favorite aspects of this place is the bowl itself; it keeps the broth warm until the very last sip, ensuring that every bite remains enjoyable. Overall, this ramen shop is a gem that never...

I've been coming to this place for about 3 years now and the quality remains consistently high as ever. The speciality of this ramen place is the slow cooked pork belly, it's fatty and melts in your mouth. The soup base is rich and a little fatty because of the pork belly, but that's what makes it so yummy. Other dishes I enjoy are their fried chicken and spicy bean sprouts.

Please come hungry as the portions are sizable, if you have a midsized appetite you may not even be able to finish the bowl let alone get sides.

Please note it's walk-in and cash only. I've queued a few times if I turn up at 7ish but if you get there 5:55 or 6pm on the dot, you can usually be seated...

The black garlic oil ramen special is a very satisfying bowl of ramen that comes with loads of toppings including pork belly, pork shoulder, pork meat ball, half boiled egg, bamboo shoot, seaweed, black fungus and onion. The broth is slight richer than the original Kamitora ramen but not overly intense; the noodle has a good texture which wasn't too soft and the best part was the succulent pork belly that my wife and I were impressed by which hands down this has become one of our favorite ramen shop in town.
