I don’t understand how this restaurant received such a high score in terms of reviews. My dinner experience there was worse than terrible. My friends hosted the dinner to celebrate a special occasion.

Food: All the dishes were mediocre at best. Other reviews mentioned high quality food being used. I didn’t notice any. None of the dishes stood out. The food does not justify the price tag.

Service: The two elderly men who served us should not be working in the industry. When I was seated before my hosts arrived, I asked to have water while I waited. When my hosts arrived, the servers just poured water into their cups without asking what they wanted for tea. We brought a large bottle of wine and a small bottle of wine. The servers queried me on drinking from the large one rather than the small one, when we couldn’t finish the bottle. It really was none of the servers’ business, and their personal comments were not invited. Also, the two old servers stood beside me and gossiped about my hosts and their children throughout the dinner. Aside from these, tea was not poured, teapots were not filled with water, etc. the servers were also very rude when I asked to replace my dirty chopsticks not long after I was seated. One of the servers broke the dirty chopsticks in half in front of me and tossed it out. They didn’t even bother washing or cleaning. Stop wasting resources. Things could be repaired rather than being destroyed and tossed out.

I did not want a certain dishes being served, but the servers were determined to serve it. I felt a lack of respect from the restaurant towards my needs and desires.

Atmosphere: poorly decorated to the point of being ghetto-like. For God’s sake, paint your walls and actually give some thought into decorating the unit into a cozy and welcoming place. Displaying a bunch of antique wine bottles does not express much about your restaurant and your misconception that expensive wine are more superior than cheap wine.

I was not impressed and I highly encourage you...

😋: 4.95 💸: HKD700 per person Food here is simple without unnecessary. The star is definitely the steamed freshy flowery crab in aged shaoxing wine. It was the sweetest crab i ve ever had, served with flat rice noodles which soak up all the sauce and juices. We spent the full time in silence, subconsciously avoiding any distraction from the sheer ecstasy of each bite. Infinite flavor, very deep and addictive 👍👍👍 - Steamed abalone with dried peel - sea sweet with a tender, slightly chewy texture that is so delightful to consume

Slow-cooked chicken soup with fish maw & Conch - i m a soup person, just love it 😘

Pan-fried Tiger Prawn with soybean sauce - a very different flavor from the western style garlic butter. The meat is bouncy and juicy

Chinese grilled pork - other version of char siu with the marinade of Chinese black olives, black beans and aged mandarin peel

Baby pigeon smoked with osmanthus & Longjing tea - strong tea on the pigeon gave the smoky taste that i love contrasting with perfectly soft and tender meat

food to be ordered /reserved in advance after booking is placed. set in 2 tier, we thought the cheaper one ($880 + 10%) is good enough.

10 courses, so the price to divide among the dishes it's actually very reasonable.

all were good, especially the crab with rice roll. it looked the same as Tai Pan but the flavour is slightly different. heavier chinese wine here. however the bbq pork here was a bit rougher than Tai Pan.

1 star deducted from the environment - small place, noisy, and quite stuffy. i think they should do better about the...
