4.5 rating here it’s definitely not about the food but the experience itself. Upon arrive you feel like you’ve been transported back in time. The decor a vintage luxury restaurant style from the wooden furniture to the silverware and the waiters in formal suits with white gloves.
Food was generally above average but wouldn’t say any dish was memorable, the seared duck liver was perfectly cooked slightly crisp on the surface but still creamy inside. Lobsters soup was flavorful a dash of brandy is optional but added a slight smokiness to the favor. Even though the portion was quite small but cause it was so rich towards the end felt it was getting a bit salty. After the appetizer a sorbet was offer to cleanse your pallet.
Next the main was huge, the appetizer was quite small so the size of the main wasn’t expected. Had the lamb it was perfectly cooked not too gamey. The surf & turf they deshelled lobster already which was thoughtful.
Lastly tried the souffle which was airy and light whiles the cream brûlées the slight bitterness of caramel balanced the sweetness of the custard. We also preordered a birthday cake (Napoleon cake) which was just average, the cream cheese was a bit dense for my liking
Overall the price might not justify the food itself but the whole dining experience was impeccable felt so taken cared of by all the staff there. Would recommend if you’re looking for a memorable place to celebrate this place won’t disappoint together with their live band. Majority of diners were there were for some sort of...
Read moreA treasured spot for over 20 years, Amigo has always been our go-to for special family celebrations. It was heartwarming to see the restaurant bustling with customers, and we were pleasantly surprised to find that the set lunch price was a bit more accessible than our visit last year, a thoughtful adjustment in these challenging times for Hong Kong’s dining scene.
The food quality remains as high as we’ve come to expect. Everything was beautifully prepared, though my steak was unfortunately a little overcooked this time.
Where this visit fell short of our expectations was the service. In the past, the staff has always been exceptionally attentive, whether for lunch or dinner. This time, however, we experienced several lapses: dishes were brought to the wrong person, we had to remind them about the birthday cake we had arranged, and simple requests like toothpicks and a wine order were overlooked.
While we understand the challenge of managing a full restaurant, the service was a noticeable departure from the impeccable standards we’ve enjoyed for so many years. We sincerely hope Amigo can find the right balance to maintain its signature service quality even with a high volume of guests. It remains a favorite, and we look forward to...

Amigo located in Happy Valley, Hong Kong is so a throw back to the yester era that i fell in love with the joint. The cuisine is French.
Adide from the structire that houses Amigo, the decor is also so fitting, it gives the patrons the feel of a lost art in the restaurant business.
My mother and i was fortunate that our cousins from Hong Kong invited us for dinner here one evening this Spring. The restaurant itself sells itself once you enter, and you knew you were going to be entertained for the evening. The feel, the sound, the smell, the look, the everything...
Everything on the menu looks fabulous. From the appetizer to the desserts, everything French. One do not normally get this kind of luxury in Hong Konf unless specifically requested, and my cousins specifically requested it for me and my mother.
The food was fresh and the taste was excellent. The mood was grand. After 2 and a half hours and many conversations, we were all plessed.
Keep in mind, anything specifically reqiested tends to be expensive, and that holds true for Amigo in Happy...
