Visiting The Grand Buffet revolving restaurant in Hong Kong was an extraordinary culinary experience that combined stunning panoramic views with an impressive array of international cuisine. Located on the 62nd floor of the iconic Hopewell Centre in Wan Chai, the restaurant offers a 360-degree view of the city’s skyline, Victoria Harbour, and the surrounding mountains, all while you dine in comfort and style.
As I entered The Grand Buffet, I was immediately struck by the elegant yet welcoming atmosphere. The large windows provided breathtaking views, which slowly changed as the restaurant gently revolved, allowing me to take in the full beauty of Hong Kong from every angle without leaving my seat. The rotation is subtle, taking about two hours to complete a full circle, giving plenty of time to enjoy the scenery and savor the food.
The buffet itself was a feast for the senses, offering a vast selection of dishes from around the world. I started with fresh seafood, including succulent oysters, prawns, and sushi, all prepared with the highest quality ingredients. Moving on, I sampled a variety of international cuisines, from Italian pasta and pizza to Indian curries and Chinese dim sum. The live cooking stations added an interactive element, where chefs skillfully prepared dishes to order, such as grilled meats and noodles.
One of the highlights was the dessert section, which featured a wide array of pastries, cakes, and a chocolate fountain, alongside traditional Asian sweets. The combination of delicious food and the revolving view made the dining experience feel both luxurious and unique.
As I enjoyed my meal, the restaurant's gentle rotation provided a constantly changing backdrop,
making every moment feel special. Watching the transition from day to night was particularly magical, as the city lights gradually illuminated the skyline, reflecting off the harbor and creating a glittering spectacle below.
The Grand Buffet is not just a place to eat, but a destination where the ambiance, view, and cuisine come together to create a memorable dining experience. Whether for a special occasion or simply to enjoy Hong Kong from a unique perspective, dining at The Grand Buffet is an experience that lingers long after the...
Read moreFood is excellent for the price point. There are plenty of lobsters, caviar and etc scattered among different dishes. Most dishes use high quality ingredients and you can taste the difference between Grand Buffet and other $400+ lunch buffet food.
While other $400+ lunch buffets give you similar varieties of food, Grand Buffet gives you better ingredients and richer flavours.
Roasted leg of lamb was a bit overcooked and tough.
Besides western dishes, dim sum and Chinese food, there are Japanese station, seafood station, and individual Asian dishes like Bak kut teh (肉骨茶), Indonesian fried rice.
Dessert counter also has decent choices, from Chinese herbal grass jelly, cream cakes, bread pudding, to bite sized little desserts. My favourite are the creamy mango ice cream with big chunks of mango, blood orange sorbet and the chocolate fountain.
Again, I can't help noticing that, unlike other buffets, the chocolate fountain here uses high quality chocolate. It has higher cacao content and tastes more chocolaty and is a lot more enjoyable than other mere sweet brown chocolate sauce.
I look forward to coming back in the evening to enjoy the good food and...
Read moreService and food were excellant and the views were great. Booked in for a night time meal and very much enjoyed it, buffet stlye with a very large variety(seriously I tried so many differnt foods I could not even begin to list them) ranging from great deserts, to cheese, sushi, roasted meats, lobster, abalone and sooo much more,We left very full. The restaurant revolves giving you view of the surronding city from the 62nd floor. The Staff were Very attentive clearing plates away quickly and refilling water and tea promptly. All up a very enjoyable experience. In my opinion the price was justified. My advice explorer the floor thoroughly as there is a lot of food to offer but is spread around, and dont ignore the rooms in the middle as there is some very nice food in there(I think another reviewer mentioned this, thanks for the too). Also if you want a window seat think you need to book in advance but we did go on new year so probably would have been extra busy. Oh and make sure you take the express observation lift up very nice. Thanks for a...
