Some moments after my food arriving, a guy off the street let himself in and walked up to our table to ask if he could have a taco. I was quite taken aback and awkwardly declined. He kept insisting—I thought he was drunk—then switched to claiming he was the owner and had made the tacos. I didn’t know what to say—I really thought he was drunk— so I just tried to keep my head down and eat my food. The man was stood right up against our table (tiny restaurant) and standing over us. He then asked us if he could “buy us ladies a drink”. He said again (in the same jokey tone) that he was the owner and that he was just messing with us, but I had no way of knowing if the guy was still joking or what. The restaurant went quiet. He then went behind the bar to instruct the lady who had taken our order. A couple minutes later he came over to apologize for his joke bombing and I awkwardly said it was okay. He later sent over some churros as an apology, which was nice of him. When the girls next to us went to pay, he spent about 5 minutes telling them his life story—how he (jokingly) wanted to bury his child’s body in his backyard, how he couldn’t conceive for 30 years, and how his mom now had cancer—while they politely laughed along (or sympathetically ohh’ed, as it were). He a bit pointedly said how it was all black humor and how not everyone got it. Safe to say we didn’t stick around after finishing eating. On our way out the door he awkwardly apologized again. It just completely ruined the atmosphere and honestly made me nauseous. Worst experience I had in HK. Posting this once I’m safely back home

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night with a friend and can’t recommend it enough! This place is so good! We ordered the beef and lamb birria quesatacos, chicharrones, and a couple of beers. The birria quesatacos were SOOO good! Both the lamb and beef were excellent, I can’t decide which ones I like better. The birria that comes with it is so savory and flavorful. If you come here, you definitely need to get these! The chicharrones were really crispy. Really like that they had Modelo beers here as well. Thankfully, we came a bit earlier in the evening…shortly after we ordered, there was a fairly long line. The waiting time for the food is a bit long (like 15-20 minutes) because it’s a tiny place with only two workers - but the wait is worth it. Also, keep in mind it’s more of a takeout place (there’s only a single table with two chairs outside the ordering window). Overall, yes, definitely would come again - need to try more of the menu - and definitely recommend! I’m almost scared to tell my friends because I’m worried about the long lines / waiting time 😂

Our first visit since they moved to Sai Ying Pun. Beef Tacos were excellent as usual. Generous amount of juicy beef and oozy cheese in every taco. Unfortunately they didn’t have lamb yesterday. They were even more flavour in our opinion when we tried them in Sheung Wan. Bone marrow chips were overrated in our opinion. Could barely taste the bone marrow on only a portion of the chips. They were also under seasoned and a rather small amount for $70. Nothing special. Churros were good but again, $45 for two finger sized churros with a sad amount of Nutella dipping put them on the slightly more pricey side. There are churros stores in HK of the same quality with more variety and much bigger portions. Service was average. Air-con was lacking so sweating through dinner. Would be nice to be have a slightly cooler environment to eat in since they have indoor seating now.

Meeeeh, your average fake Mexican place in Hong Kong. Nothing different than many others who have come and gone in the past 7 years.

I really dislike the way these spots always upcharge for basic tacos. 120HKD for 2 (very small) tacos is a joke to the Mexican community in HK.

Not to say that Mexican food cannot be elevated. Of course, if we’re willing to pay high prices for pasta, then why can’t Mexican food reach similar levels? But this isn’t the case of an elevated dish.

These are basic (below average) tacos, made with mediocre ingredients, that although may be difficult to source in this part of the world. They are not THAT difficult, to the point where you’re charging 60HKD per taco.

How do I know? I have friends in the industry.

Please do better! Because we’ve seen these places come and go. We complain about the same things over and over and no one listens, until their doors close.

O se ponen las p*nches pilas o se van a la V, como todos los demás.

Edit: The owner of this restaurant found my social media accounts and left multiple rude comments under my posts. I guess I...
