Kind of Brew is a coffee shop - jazz lounge on First Street in Sai Ying Pun. Opening hours are 12pm to 8pm daily but closed on Mondays. Here you find a chilled, lounge like seating area where coffees and light meals are served up during the day and cocktails in the evening.

I stopped by for the first time recently and had a good macchiato served white style with a fair amount of milk. Overall, a pretty good drink if you like white coffees. Service was friendly and timely, felt like a neat little place to check out for a round before dinner as well if you are in the Sai Ying Pun area later...

Let’s have an unbiased review. I fancied live house and treasured every jazz place that brought good music, but they truly had the worst Irish coffee in town.

They might have followed a different and wrong recipe, and pricing it at HK$120 each was just another mistake. The whipped cream, or something whipped cream-alike had toppled and dissolved before it was served. With some unexpected power of something on top, the drink tasted nothing but a random mixture of coffee and whiskey.

The decoration was nice, but a bit too crowded...

Cozy cafe especially for music lovers. The cafe is all about music, and you can see it throughout the decor. You can even pick your own vinyl and the staff will play it for you. Atmosphere aside, they also serve good coffee and dessert. We loved the red bean toast, and the coffee was flavourful too. The guitar spoon was a nice touch. Special shoutout to the staff for their kind service, assisting us in moving tables and playing the vinyl that we chose. They also hold music events, would love to come...
