I recently had the opportunity to dine at Serenade Chinese Restaurant, situated in the bustling locale of Tsim Sha Tsui. While I was initially confounded by the restaurant's misrepresented location on the map, the gastronomic experience that followed more than compensated for this minor hiccup.
From the moment I crossed the threshold, I was thrust into an atmosphere of congeniality and warmth that the vibrant neighborhood of Tsim Sha Tsui is famed for. However, the star of the evening, without a shadow of a doubt, was the astounding menu and the masterpieces it produced.
The culinary offerings at Serenade are nothing short of exceptional. Each dish was a superb rendition of authentic Chinese cuisine, delivering on both flavor and presentation. The menu was a virtual walk through the varied culinary landscape of China, each dish embodying the essence of the regions they represent.
Standout dishes include the Crispy Peking Duck, which was a tantalizing interplay of textures and flavors. The crispy skin juxtaposed with tender, flavorful meat was a clear standout. The Seafood Dumplings, too, deserve a special mention - each mouthful was an explosion of umami, with the succulent seafood encased in a delicately thin wrapper. Not to forget, the Spicy Mapo Tofu was unerringly authentic and had an endearing punch of heat.
However, what truly set Serenade apart was the heartwarming hospitality, personified by their exceptional staff. Ms. Fan and her team were the epitome of professionalism and warmth. Always available and attentive to our needs, they ensured our dining experience was unparalleled. Ms. Fan, with her affable demeanor and knowledge about the menu, truly elevated our experience.
Her team mirrored her dedication to providing excellent service, which coupled with the impressive fare, made our dining experience memorable. They all were not merely staff, but hosts who welcomed us into a culinary world where every dish was a symphony of flavors that catered to the palate in the most delightful manner.
Despite the initial inconvenience with the location due to an error on the map, Serenade Chinese Restaurant is a gastronomic gem in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui. The restaurant management should look into this issue to make it easier for future patrons to locate the place without any difficulty.
In conclusion, the Serenade Chinese Restaurant offers a holistic dining experience that weaves together a sublime culinary journey with heartwarming hospitality. It's a place where every dish sings, and every flavor leaves a lasting imprint on your palate.
My advice to fellow food aficionados: don't let a small map error deter you from embarking on this delightful gastronomic journey. The dishes, ambiance, and staff at Serenade are all poised to make your visit a memorable one.
Rating: 4.5/5 stars (deducting 0.5 only for the map misrepresentation)
I'm certainly looking forward to my next visit. Serenade Chinese Restaurant, I...
Read moreWe were in HK visiting for 2 days, and it took us over 40 minutes looking at every entrance on the ground floor for the restaurant. There was no signage of the restaurant anywhere. When we finally arrived at the hostess desk after getting lost and confused at 8:45pm, we ordered a pot of rose petal hot tea, one bottled water, and a diet soda. As soon as our soda arrived, we were rushed to order because we were then informed that the kitchen closes in 10 minutes. As soon as the food arrived, we were then rushed to pay by the waitress. We had no idea at that time that we only had less than 15 minutes to eat our meal. We try to order the chicken with abalone but we were told they sold out. We ordered crab (which we were told we may not order one and the minimum order was 2 of them - no where was that mentioned on the menu) and they turned out to be the smallest crabs I have ever seen served in my life. How the heck am I suppose to eat them within 15 minutes? So at the end, we only had the chance to eat 2 of the 4 dishes we ordered, took one sip of the rose tea I ordered, couple of sips of coke, and couple of sips of the bottle of water I barely sipped. What we should have been told when we checked in was that there was were not enough time to eat. But instead, we spent $1200 HKD for barely any food eaten. Oh yes, get this, when I asked for “to-go” boxes, the waitress kept speaking to me in mandarin which I did not understand. After 5 minutes of trying to explain I do not understand, she wrote $3 HKD on a piece of paper. What I finally came to understand was she wanted $3 HKD for the 2 to-go boxes. I had to show her that I only had big bills and did not have coins in my purse. I showed her $20 HKD but she said she may not give me change. WTH? There was not enough time to eat the meal I paid too much for. I definitely would not recommend this...
Read moreIt was a weekend and a wedding going on at the same time otherwise I guess the atmosphere will be more pleasant for a good dim sum brunch with the harbour view . In this era I am abit disappointed this restaurant still not taking reservation online or by phone call. Another part that I do not understand is why the server that serve food is so reluctant to gave us chilli ? The most ridiculous is the steam carrot cake she intent not to give us the soya sauce too?? Until a more senior gentleman I guess told her to gave us the sauce. We came from other part of Asia doesn’t mean we do not know how the dish supposed to be eaten with compliments and don’t you have to respect your guest eating preference ? Like we love to have chilli with most of our dishes? Last I should give them the credit for their dishes. The porridge is good , soya chicken is very good , the abalone siew mai cannot make it I will recommend their normal siew mai. The fried Cheong fun is good. The big dumpling soup is also very good. Overall good food has to come with acceptable service to retain...
