Been reading many reviews on Haika coffee, so we’ve finally popped in today.
Obviously we came for the outdoor seating as the camping seats and wooden counters just look exotic. But we gave up less than 5 min under the very hot weather warning.
The team was very friendly and helpful, they were happy to offer recommendations, and they were as welcoming as they could be.
We have tried the famous Dirty Tart. I honestly did not hold much expectation but it turned out very lovely. The cookie tart was buttery and nice, the pudding filling was creamy, the dark chocolate sauce was godsend! I thought the tart would be bigger tho but it was actually quite petite. Although I’d say from experience the portion is quite enough.
Valrhona mocha - the coffee flavour wasn’t very strong, but that’s actually how we like it.
Koyamaen Hojicha Latte - the tea flavour wasn’t very strong, which is kind of surprising. But the overall flavour was very lovely. The milk was smooth and rich.
Floral tea (camomile, rose, chrysanthemum, albizia) - we love it! We didn’t order it at the beginning as we were feeling really hot and just wanted to go for something iced, turned out they offer ice on the side on the tea options so you could have it hot or cold. The tea itself was very aromatic, if we revisit we would certainly order it again.

Read moreMy friend and I wanted to visit Tai O to see the lanterns for Mid-Autumn Festival, but seeing all the crowds there on social media, we decided to go to Cheung Chau instead. Visiting Haika Coffee right after arriving at the island made a good start.
I ordered this Lemon Black coffee on a warm Sunday afternoon. One pro tip: do not stir the coffee! The soda water in the bottom will form a stream of bubbles, flowing your coffee on the table…(sorry for making a mess…) Nevertheless, the coffee was a great one. I wish there was a stronger lemon flavour though, my lemon flavour layer had probably been spilled...
My friend ordered this Early Grey Chiffon Cake, and it’s a very delicious one! Spongy chiffon cake with a very enjoyable layer of earl grey flavor cream. Nom!
I came for the Dirty Tart. It was sold out when we first visited, but we were lucky enough that a second batch was baked before we left, and we got to try this super tasty tart!
This Dirty Tart is actually made with a bottom pudding layer with a top layer of lava chocolate. The crust was cookie like, very crunchy and yummy. The tart was supreme! The pudding had a nice and strong egg flavour, and the lava chocolate was oh-so-good! I am so glad that we got to try this Dirty Tart!
Absolutely coming back again if I visit Cheung...

The boss is always friendly and knowledgeable, making great recommendations if you’re unsure what to order. Their coffee is fantastic – rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. They offer a great selection of pastries and snacks that pair perfectly with any drink. I highly recommend trying their signature latte – it’s a real treat! Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re a coffee lover!
The “Dirty Tart” is absolutely delightful! The crust is perfectly buttery and crisp, providing the ideal balance to the creamy, flavorful filling. Each bite melts in your mouth, and the freshness of the ingredients really shines through. Definitely a must-try if you’re a dessert lover – it’s like a little piece of heaven...
