1453 Ottoman Turkish HALAL Restaurant — Restaurant in Kowloon

Believe it or not, i was ROBBED during my time in this restaurant. It happened on 30th June 2017.

My friend and I arrived at the restaurant at about 4 .30pm, the restaurant was empty and we thought of just having our meal there. Of all the tables, the lady who i believe is the waitress ushered us to a seat just next to the door. We ordered two meals which were quite expensive, about 100HKD each.

While waiting, a turkish-looking man, who my friend thought were the worker there, pressed the door opened, grabbed my bag which i left on the chair beside me and ran off. I was so SHOCKED when my friend shouted, " THE MAN TOOK YOUR BAG!". The man quickly ran off and i was so stunned and were not able to chase him.

The staffs from the shop came out of the restaurant, they tried to look for the man but he was out of sight. One of the staff helped me to call the police and soon some police came to ask me what happened. Fortunately, they had CCTV as well but i do not know if the police managed to get the footage.

I lost some of the most valuable things in my life, my passport, my new camera and some of my daily essentials. Till today, the police have not gotten back on the incident. I too, have lost all hope of recovering my lost possessions.

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight to everyone,

PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS WHEN YOU ARE IN THIS RESTAURANT OR TRAVELLING ANYWHERE ELSE IN THIS AREA OF HONG KONG.

YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW YOU COULD BE THE NEXT TARGET.

PLEASE PUT YOUR VALUABLES CLOSE TO YOU/ ON YOU LAP. DO NOT HAVE IT AWAY FROM YOU, EVEN IF YOU ARE WITHIN SIGHT AND REACH OF IT.

TRY TO AVOID THE TABLE NEAREST TO THE DOOR IN THIS PARTICULAR RESTAURANT.

Interesting place.. I was craving a Kebab or Curry and I've knowns about this place for a while... One thing I have an issue with is that you advertise one price outside (still showing the lunch menu) And show you a different menu for when you are seated at the table... Fyi.. ref lunch menus $60 is pretty normal.. Same menu at dinner time is $90-100 for the same food... I had to specifically ask how come the prices are so different.. And the owner replied lunch menu.. So I replied why are you still showing that if it's not available.. Why not show the dinner menu...

As I'm sitting here right now.. another group query the same thing.. At dinner prices it's way over priced and at lunch priced it's just normal.. Fyi .. I still at here to test the quality.. It's ok but not great.. But comparison ..same meal elsewhere in HK is still approx $70.. anytime day or night..

Food ordered.. mixed doner (plate with chips)

Food quality.. average.. Chips wet not crispy.. (need to be double fried or thinner to be crisp) Salad garnish was good.. clean and fresh

Food quantity .. ok was enough to leave some leftovers Good supply of sauces for the meat. Although no ketchup for the chips.

Service.. fine normal waiting time Around 5-10mins (dine in)

Price... below average for value for money $128 one plate meal (including can of soda and service charge %10)

Recommended improvements.. Increase the size of the salad on the plate. Double fry chips so they are crispy (or switch to fries) Definitely remove the lunch menu.. it's...

i think its a good restaurant

+staff i think they are handsome and kind, smile on the face all the time, i can feel they are good people and passion on food and the place

+decoration its a rare Turkey restaurant with many rare things that we don't usually see in other restaurants around here, interesting and good style

+animal i see two rabbit over there, they are taking care well, healthy and happy i am happy about that

+food +food quality all perfect and delicious

everything can feel that it is just made before serves us, so fresh and hot food i like all the meet they serve, it all tastes good.

the vegetables are all fresh and green, I specially like the raw onion, spicy and delicious.

+food delivery speed it take around 25min to get the first food on the table, it is slow but the food quality fix the problems of it. we didn't eat in a hurry situation, so we are okay to stay for a long time to eat food

-price it is expensive and not suitable to eat alone, otherwise it will cost a lot to taste different things, Better share with friends

-toilet two small toilet for whole restaurant, its dark and small, better add few more light to avoid the things on the road and...
