Banh Mi Chung - A Taste of Vietnam in Hong Kong ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you're craving a taste of Vietnam in Hong Kong, Banh Mi Chung is the place to go! Their banh mi sandwiches are absolutely delicious and incredibly affordable. The bread is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, providing the perfect base for the flavorful fillings. The meat is generous and flavorful, and the pickled vegetables add a refreshing crunch and tangy flavor. The sandwiches are packed with flavor and are incredibly satisfying. It's no wonder why this place is always busy with locals and tourists alike. I highly recommend trying Banh Mi Chung if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed!

Delicious authentic banh mi with generous portions and cheap price, 50$hkd for a full size sandwich. It comes with pâte, viet cold cut, pickled radish, chilies, cilantro, grilled pork. There's only one type of banh mi and they some small snacks like soup, coffee, etc. Must try this super local, hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Tai Kok Tsui neighborhood. The owner is very nice and you can order on whatsapp. Be aware it closes during the afternoon siesta and sometimes sells out before closing @ 8:30pm, try to order by 8:15. One of the best banh mi in Hong Kong!

It’s quite popular with locals so I decided to check it out, First off this place is cash only and they don’t have a lot of change so best to bring small notes. I ordered half a banh mi for 30 HKD. It’s quite nice to order half banh mi for people who aren’t hungry, which I have not seen at any other places. The banh mi was nice but not what I call a traditional delicious banh mi. It’s good but has a unique twist to it, the liver pate is slightly richer than the traditional pate. They also topped it up with a lot of pickled vegetables which I enjoyed.

Small restaurant serving bánh mì, vietnamese baguette sandwich, with an option of side veggies an/or soup. The bread has a excellent texture and bounce. The fillings are classic, comprised of vietnamese pork sausage, pickled radishes, pâté, garnishes e.g. cilantro, chili. There is an option to go for spicy or non-spicy, otherwise all submarines had the same filling. My preference is to go with a 9" sandwich ($50) and forgo the sides.

The ordering procedure may be a bit confusing for first timer. After you entered the shop, you take a number from behind the sliding door, which is your queue number. The owner would call your number out and you inform them the size of the baguette (5" or 9"), whether you want side of veggie/soup, and spicy/non-spicy. You pay in a self-serving bowl (collect your own change) and return the number card to the tin near the payment area, and wait for your sandwich.

On the day of visit in May 2022, the shop is take out only, though previously there was a tiny sit in area that could accomendate around 5 people on stools. The shop obviously has its own fans as evident by the owner greeting some of the customer by their names. Have a go for it, you may...

No joke. This was the best Banh Mi I have ever had. Changed my entire perspective of Banh Mi. I previously thought Banh Mi is just an asian subway. How wrong I was.

Completely packed with a rainbow array of flavours. You can taste every component: the pickled veg, the pate, shredded pork that defintely had an umami depth, cilantro. But most important of all, despite all individual ingredients carried their own unique, punchy, remarkably memorable flavours, they all combined harmoniously. It was stunning.

Of course, not every bite was perfectly equal (I refrain from using the word, balanced, because in my mind, every bite was balanced in its own way). Some bites had more shredded pork, some had more pickled veg. But that was also the beauty of this Banh Mi. Whilst every bite was beautiful, the ingredients sang their own, respective, chorus. And I welcomed that: "Ah, here comes the shredded pork. Ah the pickled veg, nice to taste you again. Ah, now the pate comes alive." Gorgeous. Beautiful....
