How to get here ? mtr from Central ,2 stops to Olympic ,中區central 到奥远olympic，walk along at HSBC , go down the escalator to Pok Man Street, the restaurant is 5 minutes away at Fuk Chak street [see Tai Kok Tsui map,大角咀地图] carprking at a mall nearby Tai Kok Tsui Road. Literally, Lao = senior, old , Zhang Gui = shop cashier in charge, i.e. C.F.O. of shop, term is commonly known in old china eg Ching dynty. This joint is a rare type of chinese cuisines at this area Tai Kok Tsui, north eastern cuisine in hk, but more easy to find such of restaurant in Shanghai city and Shenzhen city, this place is popular for food conosieurs in hong kong similar to the famous Spring Deer at Tsim Sha Tsui, price and interior designs are both chinese atmosphere rich ,氛围好的， many 4-6 seats tables worth a try if you happen be around the office building of HSBC or the Bank of China building office at Olympic Station of mtr.

I used to work in Tai Kok Tsui and dined at Lao Zhang Gui from time to time because of the large portions and cheap prices. Happened to be around that area and realized they have already moved to a way bigger shop.

◆白菜豬肉餃 Pork & Cabbage Dumplings Served with black vinegar and spicy bean sauce. Balanced amount of meat and veggies. Smooth wrapper. Juicy filling.

◆秘製杭州骨 Hangzhou Style Ribs Served right after ordering. Appetizing sweet and vinegary sauce. Loads of bite size ribs with onion, fried potato cubes and pineapple.

◆乾煸四季豆 Fried Beans w/ Minced Meat Stir-fried beans mixed with savory minced pork. Full of wok hay. Enough for 3-4 people to share.

Food quality is ok – nothing exciting.

Tables are extremely small (see photo).

No toilet paper and no soap in the washroom. I hope their employees wash their hands properly before they work!!

The floor of the restaurant was also very slippery, which could be a danger to young children and the elderly.

I understand this is what you would call “hole in the wall”, but their food quality would need to be a lot better to make up for the poor ambience and facilities.
