Tasteless Meats Disappointing Night in DongLaishun…really far below normal standard lollllll don’t tell me this is hotel restaurant…

DongLaishun isn’t big you can see the whole restaurant in one when you take the elevator down here, but seriously can skip this restaurant in royal garden

Sautéed eel with brown sauce topped with stir fried river shrimp having good seasoning but the eel simply having no taste lolllll, is it really eel except the looking lol

Poached mutton in stock having quite mutton pieces, but again having no goat flavor at all loll

Braised Duck with beijing onions in brown sugar is too sweet…the duck simply having no flavor at all like dipping into the soup for long lollll, only good ingredients here are mushroom and cabbages lollll

Fried rice with shrimps, sea cucumber and chicken is okay, with chewy shrimps haha but i can’t taste any sea cucumber

Honestly no need coming here at all because the dishes bring great disappointment to my family sosad, maybe any one of chinese restaurants having better cooking than here lol

We wanted a bite to eat after a 24 hours of traveling from Europe. The chinese restaurant was fully booked. So we went down the hall. They were kind of full, but we wanted to have some dinner, no clue what kind of restaurant it was. We were seated in the hallway, near the elevator. People literally were standing next to us…..it felt like we were in a food court and out of sight doesn’t really help with service. we got a menu…..which was a limited version of what the restaurant offers, so we had a hotpot for 2, a noodle bowl, a sweet and sour chicken, a bottle of sake and a couple of cokes. There was a loud karaoke party in the other restaurant, which made normal conversation hard. At first the hotpot wasn’t turned on, then it was hot but did not have enough water in it. They forgot the sweet and sour chicken…….a bad experience….They charged us 4500 H$, 550 euros. Feels like a...

The food was fresh and you could taste every small detail .They put a lot of effort and thought into making the food. I recommend the lamb meat for hot pot.

Besides, the service was exceptional. You don't even need to ask for their help. They already can spot the problems and come to assist you. They have warm smiles and they're very hostile. I especially like the waiter Kelly Chiu, she was extremely nice and professional. She answered our questions with detail.

Overall this place is worth the...

You'll like it if you're a fan of Northern China lamb dishes, grill, bbq, hot pot, and a wide variety of delightful appetiters all based on lamb. Attached pictures comes from their famous full lamb course (for 6 persons). It's also famous for fatty lamb hotpot. Services are reasonable / acceptable, decor is spacious and not overly noisy. Price point wise it's above average, expect per head around HK$ 400-600 per head for dinner excluding wine or drinks.

Very good dishes with attentive services. Cuisine style n dishes not the same as in Beijing, appetizers shine all the same. Smoked eggs is personal “must eat “. 左右逢魚 specially recommended. 河蝦仁炒蛋scramble eggs with river shrimp is another favorite dishes. Shrimps flavor delicate , texture tender; they cooked the smooth scramble egg with Italian eggs. I expected the Peking roast duck better though. Good wine glasses.
