Rosary Church (玫瑰堂) is the oldest Roman Catholic church in Kowloon. It was established in 1905 by the Hong Kong Catholic Mission to cater for the needs of increasing numbers of Catholics in Tsim Sha Tsui in the early 20th century.During the Second World War, Italy was one of the axis-aligned nations at war and Portugal was neutral. At that time, Rosary Church was led by an Italian Parish Priest and many Catholics in Rosary Church were Portuguese. Thus, the Church remained untouched by the Japanese armies. During 1941-1945, Rosary Church still carried on its religious services.

I attended a friend’s wedding today and I lost my sunglasses, so I checked with her at the reception, she ignored me all the time, ignored all the questions while I was standing there so helplessly for about 10 min. So when I returned to the wedding reception at the hall, she suddenly came after me, entered the hall, and asked the host whether I was the guest and warned them to not let me in; luckily they all know me at the wedding, she didn’t even apologise for what she has done!
I’m thinking that even if I wasn’t the guest from wedding, is it normal that how she treat the people who looked for the help? What a shame, I’m a Catholic, I will never go to...

To the right of the church entrance is a small fountain and 1.2 metre statue of the Lady of Pompeii. It seems this statue was previously kept in a monastery in Naples before being transferred here to the Rosary Church.
