I am leaving this review regarding the (North Point) DOZY Cafe, so please take it into consideration.
I usually don’t leave reviews, but I feel compelled to leave one this time. This is the worst restaurant I have been to in Hong Kong. It's the only place where I felt upset and had such a bad experience.
I'm not sure if it was intentional or a mistake, but...
I visited a few days ago for breakfast and ordered a brunch menu. It took an hour to get my food. Of course, I didn’t expect the same speed as in Korea, so I was prepared for a bit of a wait. However, I was given table number 1, and I noticed that tables from 2 to 15 were served their coffee and meals before me. After waiting and waiting, I finally complained, and only then did they bring my food—without even an apology.
Of course, delays can happen. I’m Korean, and the staff were Hong Kong locals, so there might have been a language barrier. However, I am a paying customer who spent about 100 HKD, and if there was a delay, a simple explanation would have helped me understand. Had I received an apology, I wouldn’t even be writing this review.
In any case, if you are going to run a restaurant, please make sure to properly train your staff in customer service. That is the bare minimum and basic manners. For reference, I have been to similar brunch and Italian restaurants in the area, and waiting over an hour for a meal is simply unacceptable.
This suggests there is a problem with either the restaurant's management or staff training. I hope you will address and correct this...
Read moreDozy is one of the many coffee shops that have sprung up in the Sham Shui Po neighbourhood in recent years. They are located on Ki Lung Street and are open from 10.30am to 6pm (weekdays) and 9am to 6pm (weekends). This place has real character and charm. It feels like a gutted out factory shop, repurposed and furnished with an eclectic array of chairs, seats and assortment of plants that line the interior walls. The atmosphere is great, a really neat place to chill out, relax and soak up the coffee culture atmosphere that becoming a real thing in Sham Shui Po.
We stopped by Dozy recently and had a nice visit. They not only serve traditional coffee drinks but offer a couple of wines and a few gin varieties, along with their cakes of the day and food menu. We enjoyed the pumpkin, avocado and pomegranate salad as well as the tofu cheesecake. The tarsier gin and tonic had a strong lychee flavour and floral notes while their Riesling was just fine. Service was friendly and timely as well.
Overall, really liked our visit to Dozy, a place we very much look forward to returning to in the...
