It's my first time to visit this interesting Nepalese restro in Jordan! Being attracted by its vibe and coziness, we decided to pay a visit tonight Funky Monkey is renowned for their unique cocktails crafted by award-winning bartender Gurung Dammarsing, however, both my friend and I were driving - what a pity we couldn't try their cocktails!! (Maybe I'll it to our next visit)
We ordered the followings -
🦑Calamari Fritti $78 Very crispy deep-fried squid with tartare sauce - perfect companion with my mocktail🔥
🍄🟫Linguine Truffle Mushroom $118 Al dente linguine with well-flavored truffle and mushroom! Love the texture of the dish - it's not oily but has enough oil to make the pasta not sticking tgt! 🍝
🍕Nepalese Pizza (Chatamari Pizza) $148 Mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, minced beef with spiced herbs topped with egg The pizza took some time to be ready but it gave us some time to chat! We love the pizza - it was a bit spicy but the spiciness matches perfectly with the beef and onsen egg on top! 🍳 I personally love the stringy mozzarella, it balances out the spiciness of the marinara sauce and brings all ingredients tgt☺️
🍹Virgin Colada $78 Pineapple Juice & Colada Mix Tropical fruits are my all-time fav! 💛
🍓Sweet Heart $78 Strawberry, Rasberry & Grenadine Very sweet indeed but not too sweet for me! Recommend it to everyone who has a...
Read moreEvery weekend, I look for good food, and yesterday I stumbled upon a fantastic Nepalese restaurant called Funky Monkey, nestled between Austin and Jordan stations.
This place combines homey vibes with award-winning mixology and a playful fusion of cuisines, creating a uniquely delightful Nepalese dining experience!
The ambiance was warm and inviting—perfect for catching up with friends. The chill background music set the mood without being intrusive.
We ordered a selection of dishes:
Khaja Set: These Nepalese dumplings were absolutely delicious! Accompanied by a spicy and savory sauce, they truly enhanced the flavors. The baked chicken was also a standout—full of rich taste!
Lotus Root Salad: The crispy lotus root was refreshing, complemented by a spicy dressing that added a delightful kick. I loved every bite!
Passionate Love: This dessert was a fruity medley featuring passion fruit and other delightful fruits. It was light and sweet—just perfect!
Virgin Colada: I enjoyed a sweet, refreshing drink made with pineapple, which paired beautifully with our meal.
Overall, it was a wonderful experience! If you’re in Hong Kong, I highly recommend visiting Funky Monkey for some delicious...

Sadly as my friend wasn't adventurous we ordered the non Nepalese food, otherwise I would have ordered the momos and Nepalese noodles.
Anyway, we had Peri Peri chicken and fish tacos.
The chicken was fantastic, it was half a chicken smothered with their Peri Peri sauce which I really liked because it was really spicy and if you have tried Nepalese Momos, the sauce tastes like that.
The sweet potato wedges were a bit disappointing though because I would prefer proper potatoes to match the chicken.
The fish tacos were battered fish drizzled with sour cream on top of a bed of julienne cabbage.
Again using that Peri Peri sauce enhanced it a bit more even though there were fresh chopped chilis on the fish so watch out. Finished with the drinks and dessert.
The Monkey colada was heavenly because it was sweet so I liked it.
The Skull and Bones was refreshing and strong.
Dessert was cheesecake.
It had a hint of caramel/toffee so I...
