Classic Carbonara Spaghetti – $148 This carbonara is executed in a traditional style, featuring a rich and creamy sauce made from cheese and egg yolk, delivering both depth and smoothness. The flavor of the cured pork belly adds a smoky, savory note, while the mushrooms contribute a subtle sweetness. The pasta is cooked to a soft, yielding texture, allowing the velvety sauce to coat every strand evenly. The balance of creaminess and umami makes this a well-rounded interpretation of the Italian classic.
Chargrilled Canadian Pork Chop with Creamy Mushroom Sauce – $248 The pork chop is skillfully grilled, showcasing a balance of lean meat and fat cap that keeps the texture moist and tender. The searing develops a caramelized crust, while the interior remains a delicate pink, indicating precise temperature control. The creamy mushroom sauce adds earthiness and richness, pairing well with the natural savoriness of the pork. Each bite reflects both the quality of the meat and careful execution in cooking.
Housemade Crispy Potato Bites – $68 These bite-sized potato pieces are deep-fried to a golden crisp on the outside while maintaining a soft, fluffy interior. The seasoning is distinctive, with a smoky-sweet profile reminiscent of barbecue spices. The contrast between the crunchy exterior and pillowy center makes them an addictive side dish with a unique twist on familiar flavors.
"Under the White Orchid" Gin Cocktail – $140 Built on a gin base, this cocktail is layered with fresh notes of grapefruit and lime. The initial aroma carries the floral profile of elderflower, which seamlessly transitions into gentle fruit and citrus elements. The alcohol is subtle, making it an easy-drinking option that pairs well with a meal. Its balance of floral and fruity notes creates a refreshing and elegant flavor progression.
"Bookmark" Chrysanthemum Lychee Mocktail – $108 This non-alcoholic beverage centers on chrysanthemum tea, with the floral base complemented by the sweetness of lychee. The combination is unexpectedly harmonious—the floral bitterness of the tea tempers the fruit’s sugar, resulting in a drink that’s layered and nuanced. It’s a refined, refreshing option for those seeking a more delicate profile...
Read moreMy recent visit to Library Restaurant & Bar was a delightful experience, combining a charming atmosphere with delicious food. Here's a detailed review of my dining experience:
Ambience The ambience at Library Restaurant & Bar is one of its standout features. The interior is tastefully decorated with a cozy, elegant vibe that makes it a perfect spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The lighting is just right, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or a significant other, the setting enhances the overall experience.
The Food During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling some of their offerings, and the food was absolutely delicious. The dishes we ordered were well-prepared, with fresh ingredients and attention to detail in presentation and flavor. The combination of flavors was balanced, and each bite was a testament to the culinary skills of the kitchen staff.
Menu Variability One aspect of our visit that was slightly disappointing was the menu variation between lunch and dinner. We had come specifically to try certain dishes but discovered that the restaurant has different menus for lunch and dinner service. Unfortunately, this meant that some of the items we were looking forward to weren't available during our lunch visit.
Library Restaurant & Bar offers a wonderful dining experience with its great ambience and delicious food. While we were a bit disappointed not to be able to try some of the dishes due to the menu differences between lunch and dinner, the quality of what we did have more than made up for it. I highly recommend this restaurant for its inviting atmosphere and tasty food, and I look forward to returning to explore their dinner menu...
Read morehonestly haven't even gotten my food yet. I was given no instructions on how to order when I was sat down so I waited for over an hour getting overlooked by the waiter several times while other tables were sat after me and served before me. I assumed this meant I was supposed to order via qr code like other restaurants but the only qr code they have is to their Instagram. They had no trouble moving me to a different table so they can use the one I was originally sat at to prep for an incoming party of 8. Finally the waiter stopped avoiding my gaze and I was able to order food and a coffee. Which was simply cold brew and rose syrup. nothing complicated. they bring me a latte, I ask inform him I ordered a cold brew and rose syrup. he asks if I want it in separate containers, I say no I just want cold brew and rose syrup. he brings me a jar of cold brew a little pot of rose syrup all in separate containers. I'm extremely confused and just mix it into my empty water cup that has been empty for an hour while my neighbor is on her 4th glass of wine. this has been an all around frustrating and baffling experience
the cold brew was delicious and the rose syrup was delicate and floral without being over powering, the food at other tables smells great, the restaurant itself is beautiful and little touches like neon signs and the scent of the soap at the bathroom all tie in together for a cozy eatery. I wish there was an "I have no idea what was happening" option for rating the service
I'm saying i spent around/over $200hkd because I planned on ordering dessert but idk if I will be able to order that
editing again to mention the food was delicious I got the sous vide halibut with ratatouille and...
