Read moreChee Kei is a very pleasant surprise from the area. To think it's just a stone's throw away from the more famous Mak's noodle down the street. This one is a much much better since it has the same caliber of Shrimp wanton and noodles, with more variety and larger seating. The staff is also warm and accommodating despite the lack of English proficiency. Do do try the Shrimp wanton and beef brisket tendon with the fried wanton on the side. Wash it down with some ice cold barley drink for a perfect combination. If you go for the crab congee special be prepared to work and be rewarded for your meal. You should mix it well and put some meat and fat back into the congee though for the flavors to really get happy with each other and get that complex mouthful. Heads up, no visa or mastercard accepted so get your cash ready or load up that...
Read moreMust get food include their wanton mee (云吞面)- noodles are springy, shrimp inside the wanton was plump and juicy. Fried chicken wings was so good our table of 14 pax couldn’t stop eating them - we ordered 6 plates. We liked their Ting Zai porridge (艇仔粥) and Beef brisket noodles (牛腩面) too. Their chilli is yummy but quite spicy. The service was the best we received in Hong Kong so far. My friends were so pleased they said the restaurant deserved a better google rating. I truly feel that way too. After 3 days of trying famous Hong Kong food, we find that this was our most delicious meal. Thumbs up! Do note that they only accept cash. Will edit this review to include photos of our food when I get it from...
