Read moreI highly recommend giving this authentic Japanese style Ramen restaurant a try.
Food: Gyoza - 5/5 - scrumptious!
Dan Dan Ramen - 3/5 - interesting combination of Sichuan Dan Dan spices with a hint of Japanese flavouring.
SPICY TSUKEMEN - 100/5 - this dish was truly the Star of the Evening.
If you like spice (and I mean real proper spice), then this dish is absolutely going to satisfy your taste buds and enhance your entire dining experience at Takano Ramen. It’s the kind of dish that has the perfect balance of flavours. 2 days later and I’m still thinking about. *view pictures attached for reference

Read moreI ordered a Aguni Salt Tsukemen, Shoyu ramen and a order of Gyoza. Gyoza was served first, followed by the Tsukemen after some 15 minutes. The Shoyu ramen came last after some 25 minutes of waiting. When it arrived my partner was done with her portion and the Gyoza was already cold.
To charge a more than regular pricing for ramen you would expect that they would have the decency to serve everything together, hot.
Taste was nothing special, it did not have any oomph or punch to the soup base. Noodles texture was just right, bamboo shoots were great and did not have the taste of overly old shoots like many other ramen restaurants would have. Cha siu was nicely proportioned, good balance of fat and meat. Good size.
Overall it was only "OK" considering I did not have to wait to get in. Good for a first time visit but I doubt I would return.
